But how do you know you'll get the result you're after, before it exists? I mean, in a sense, you could say that we only know of something like 3 people in the world who have figured out how to do a great rotary emulation, and they already all have jobs. ;-)

And fortunately one of them made the Ventilator which I can try to install inside the NS3C pretending Clavia finally also figured it out. Maybe gaffa is easier :keyboard2:

I have a Stage 2 and was happy with the B3 emulation. I bought a C2 and updated it to C2D immediately (just an OS upgrade....), I was playing it with the NOT "close miking" Leslie and it was great. I had the idea to try the "Close Miking" option in the Forum and yes, I kept it, it sounds different, I'm not sure it's really better or closer to the real B3....I tried few B3 in my life but always thought that it was my lack of knowledge on HOW TO PLAY IT rather than the instrument by itself that was the culprit for not sounding very good. I even haven't tried yet the option 60/40 or 40/60, the opinion on which one is better depends on each player's taste....And skills....
At the end, I think people are really making a lot of noise for something that is less important than the skills you have when you play an Hammond clone....Why on ALL the video of Joey Di Francesco, weather he is playing an Hammond or a Nord or anything else, it sounds awesome....For me at least, spend more time improving your technique on the B3 and this will make a much bigger difference than all the little ones that are between the different clones on the market...Or between the monstrous numbers of real old B3 that are everywhere....
And if you really don't like the Nord B3, well, buy another brand, there is room for every personal taste and room for more manufacturers in the market nowadays, but stop always complaining on the same issue, that would make sense if Nord would be the only option but that's not the case anymore....
On this video, the B3 sounds really different but I like them all, they all sound crazy good!!!! but we have 4 awesome players, well, I knew 3 of them anyway....I'm sure you do that with the same players and 4 different clones, you will all forget about the differences in sound but will crave to play like these guys....

Seems like everybody is still saying that this or that sounds better than the ns3 whether it be an electro or the previous stage or whatever. I still would like to ask, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, for somebody to post the comparison between the ns3 that they don't like and one of the other Nords that they think sounds better. Of course this should be done with care to make sure the exact same settings are used for comparison.

Generally I agree that it would be better to concentrate on playing and training than «always complain». And yes I could buy another brand, but that’s why I actually am hoping for improvements to the Stage. The NS3C does all I want: Everything is there in the song list and I put it on top of any 88 key midi controller to have my perfect dual keyboard setup. The top clones as well a B3/L122 are in my studio and are the reason I am «always complaining». And at 60 the motivation for improving my skills and be playing like JDF is grounded. But I will still hope for improvements from Nord, but no more comments here :silent:

Man, have you read the first comment on this Post? It's my post by the way.
I am comparing the Hammond sound of Nord Electro 4D vs Stage 3, and yes i can compare them both side by side if you want. I will record it with the same B3 settings in order to give you some examples of what i was talking about! I will play exactly the same thing on booth records in order to give you the exact same skill...mine.

Don't worry, i am glad with my NS3 Compact and i will keep playing with it, because i love it!

Any news from Clavia about fixing the B3 module?
Do you think it's a HW or SW issue?

The C3 and percussion were software issues, and they fixed them about a year ago.

They added Leslie horn/rotor balance at some point, so I gave the Leslie (set to 122 close) a little more bottom. I’ve been very happy since.

What problem are you seeing?

I was on v2.02 OS. Just upgraded to the latest OS. I also specifically set 122 close and 60/40 balance. Thanks for advice. Sounds great in Chroal Leslie mode. Not 100% happy with Tremolo mode. I guess it's related to the Leslie Sim. Anyway It sounds good enough. Quite happy with it.
