I'm confused about the comments on the clavinet.

I have three vintage clavs - two D6's and an E7 - and the one I use most is the one I built in my Electro 2, years ago. A heavy touch of distortion, and the wah, and the thing is perfect. It's what I mostly use for studio productions.

In fact, I recommend the Electro specifically because the clavinet is so awesome. What am I doing wrong?

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, I just think you have the same issue as a lot of other Stage users: the lack of a good upright piano sample.

This must be the longest thread on a non-existent piano sample ever.

I actually really like the Petrof Med 5.3.

And as for the Clav, it needs note-off samples, and perhaps the option to make it "sing" by hitting on the aftertouch (similar to how wobbling a key on a clav will make the strings start up again). But other'n that: monster.
