Yeah same here. I guess where it fits the most would suit for now. And then you can use the tags for adding more keywords for that program to easily find something you need.
Same as accordeon is a wind-driven instrument so I have doubts about that one.

Yes for Accordion I would chose Acoustic as category and add a tag “Wind” - or the other way around, doesn’t matter as long as a search of either of them shows the accordion in the list

Check this https://chris55.github.io/ns3-program-viewer/ awesome tool to visualize NS2/3 programs and re-create them on the other instrument!

Perfect... you guys are nailing it. Just think of category as the 'primary' category, use you best judgement..

The Tags probably be the most useful mechanism to categorize sounds.
Either way, the search feature will filter by categories and tags...

The duplicates/redundant patches - lets make a list of their patch IDs and I will 'hide' them without deleting the data.
I'll add a hide patch feature.

And quite important is the feature where you can identify 'parent patch' - this is a way to group variations together.
I will add this feature as soon as posible. You can see how it works if you look at some of the uptown funk patches (ID 656)

It would be good if we could capture some of this category/tag classification methodology as help instructions so others working to add content have a reference/guide when assigning categories and tags. Particularly 6 or 12 or 18 months from now when it isn't as fresh in everybody's mind or if new people are working on the content.

I have just added the ability to remove a patch thats not required, like a duplicate of another patch.
Also added a way to set the ParentPatchId - used for creating a group of patches and variations as previously mentioned. You need to take a mental note of the 'parent' ID before updating/editing the child patch variation.
Once the ParentPatchId is set, the relationship will exist, you will see the parent or children listed under variations in the Patch Viewer.

e.g. check out Fullorchestra Ste Srv4 & Fullorchestra Ste Srv4 2 (IDs 9 and 10)

Is this supposed to work already?

I tried to add an mp3 today, but it didn't work. Mac OS X + Firefox.
Both drag and drop and click and add file from finder didn't.

I have now added to functionality to add an Mp3 if the patch does not already have one. Its a drag and drop uploader.
After you have selected your file, click 'Upload this file' and wait for the transfer to complete.
The mp3 player will appear once upload is complete, and then you can close the window, or continue to edit the other fields (Category, Description, Tags, etc)
I have not worked on a way to delete existing MP3s, not sure if we actually need that.

This means you can now categorize, add tags, describe and add MP3s.

More features to follow soon
WELL DONE SPOOKY! You're a GENIUS!!!

An accessible, easy to navigate website. I'm really proud of you. Just registered. When I'm up and running and designing new sounds, etc. my work will go there without question.

strange.
It should work on Mac + PC and in any browser, I'd be surprised if it didnt.
It is locked down so that only valid .mp3 files can be added. can you check the file extension in the file details.. Make absolutely sure its an mp3?

Maybe you could email me the file? I'll PM you
