yes, I DOWNLOADED the NS3 manual and looked for that specific info, it said NOTHING about any kind of that type of Leslie setting. I was very disappointed. (STILL no support for half moon on 76 or 88... DOUBLE BUMMER.

I notice from the manual that the functionality of assigning a midi channel to each instrument (for example organ/piano/synth on each slot, 6 parts), is missing? This would reduce the multitimbral functionality to just the 2 panels/slots?

Wouldn't the middle pedal of the 'triple pedal' do that?

Oops, that's an unexpexted leap back. For what reason? This ruins my plans for this keyboard as a central point in my keyboard setup. When placing a pre order I did not expect these kind of "upgrades". In all other aspects I am very curious about the Stage3 and I can't wait to get more information about the Sample library 3.0.

Any other reactions to this?

On the manual in the overview section I found this:
Piano section with acoustic Grand and Upright pianos, tine and
reed based Electric pianos, Digital piano sounds, Clavinet and
Harpsichord sounds and a Layer category with rich sounding piano
combinations. The memory capacity for the Piano section in the
Stage 3 is 2 gigabytes
So the piano category Layer is mentioned officially.

Here are piano layers described in the manual. I hope these piano samples will be available for the older models.

If this is true (and not an oversight in the manual) it is a horrible decision. This would prevent me from upgrading.

Not unlike the stupid decision that Yamaha made when crippling the Montage MIDI implementation. After using 3 generations of Motif-based synths, it forced my upgrade path to Kronos.
