I understand what your saying here and me being new to Nords i wouldn't have known that about previous synths in this range however i find that (i checked) all my other hardware synths and every one of them have at least a basic phaser and/pr chorus.
Now, initially i would not have complained about the fx on the NL4 but i invested in 2 of them, both rack and keyboard and i love the sound. The only thing that has miffed me is the fact that this new A1 was announced shortly after i invested in Clavia only to find that these new models have a better fx section than the NL4.
Other than the fx department i'm so happy with the sound i have here in my 2 Nords but i hope you understand that to see this new synth so soon after buying in to the Clavia family so to say it's pretty much a valid case some of us have here.
Anyways maybe they will port the A1 fx over to the NL4 i don't know but i can only ask them in an e-mail.

Worse case for me is that i'll just have to buy the A1 if it comes in rack format.

Cheers

Rob

Oh my. Those new effects really make the NL4 talkbox ones seem redundant :/ There's no polite way to put it. If the new FX didn't exist, sure, I wouldn't miss them...but they do....on a cheaper synth that happened to debut exactly a day after I bought a more expensive model that doesn't have them. Doh.

Lesson learned here.. never buy anything until i see what's at the Namm shows first.. my fault i had a christmas spreading spree but lets hope they port the A1 fx over to the NL4 for us in the near future.

Agreed. I don't mind the talk stuff and use them occasionally but would def prefer and ensemble. This is not top of my wants though as other threads might indicate lol.

Just happy i held off on buying the Jomox 999 drum machine at christmas. I have decided that the new Elektron drum machine is a perfect fit for my Analog 4 and my Nords. Should have a pretty nice live setup with those. The NL4 does top notch sounds as is but lets wait and see if the port the A1 fx over as hinted in the video.

You've seen the Roland teasers for Aira?

They're late to the party, but I'm intrigued.

Also, take a look at the Tempest from Roger Linn.

Not really in to the Tempest. Not my thing.. i like the idea of P-Locks as i have on the other Elektrons so this new rytm machine will suit my needs. I will also look at what Roland have up their sleeve and yeah i seen the Aira pics and forum posts all over so that's gonna be interesting. Already have the Nord Drum 2 ordered and i have plans for that too when i hook it to the Elektrons sequencer.

Just been watching this video.. seems they're gonna phase out the NL2x according to this at 06:30 in the video. Good questions from the Andertons guy too asking if it was a cut down of the NL4 etc

So is anyone let down by the fact that the NLA1 has awesome effects and the NL4 doesn't? I LOVE the sounds I'm hearing from the A1! I'm glad I kept my NL3... The A1 and NL3 will be the ultimate Nord pairing! :)
