Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
I've been setting up patches as a copy of my NS3 to NS4.
I have both in my mixer side-by-side with exactly the same EQ-settings so that can't be an issue.
A couple of things stood out for me :
- NS4 Organ seems to have more bass/low in the lower registers than the NS3, I had to fiddle with the amp and/or compressor to get the same sound.
Or slide the lower registers a bit back from 8 to 7 or 6.
- Piano's seem to be 'deeper' as well, and the bright timbre isn't as bright as on the NS3
- I noticed that the tremolo and chorus rate are not 1 on 1 the same with the same value between NS3 and NS4.
This might be important to those who work off a parameter sheet to duplicate sounds.
- The bright reverb is also not as bright as NS3
All in all the NS4 does sound better; In a way, more body to the sound for a lack of a better description.
I hope the scene-functionality will be improved to be more like the NS3 A/B panels.
I can't have another effect on for instance the organ as it's shared between the scenes as opposed to the NS3 where it's bound to the panel.

Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
I would suggest adding this to the issues/bugs Google sheet and reporting it to Clavia. Based on another post HERE, the Level of a layer is applied post-reverb similar to your issue with the reverb level itself, rather than allowing the reverb to decay for prior notes played even if the Level is then turned down.RichardG wrote:Can the Reverb dry/wet be functionally made equivalent to the delay dry/wet ? With the delay the repeats 'ring out' as you turn the knob back to fully dry. In case of reverb it cuts of the tail as you turn the knob to fully dry. It would be very nice because than I can use the reverb in a similar way with a stab of a chord having reverb, turn it back and play further without (so much) reverb.

I've reported it to Clavia and got the well-known local supplier response that they've forwarded it to Clavia...WannitBBBad wrote: I would suggest adding this to the issues/bugs Google sheet and reporting it to Clavia.
I saw the other/related issue of the reverb being cut-off so I hope Clavia does indeed address this issue because it makes the whole seamless transition moot if this happens.
I did add both to the requests part of the sheet and just saw that there's also a bug related to both reverb and delay.

Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
By this time (3 months after public release of Stage 3), there were about 4-5 updates. We've gone 2 months with no update for Stage 4. I sure hope there's a whopper of one coming down the pike. I know everyone has their own major issue. I'm easy. Just fix Live Mode (randomly resetting after power off every so often) and get the list, category select for Programs/Presets.
But man, I really thought we'd see an update by now. Granted, I do want it to be a well tested update that doesn't crash or cause other problems but it's been a pretty big time gap given history of firmware update timings.

Agree. And no new additions to the new Sound Library 4 either.

Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
especially since there was a post around here somewhere that said there was a beta that fixed many things more than a month ago. 2 months is terrible, also none of the pianos have been updated to 6.3 that come in the Stage 4. I'd love and XL version of the Silver Grand.

Got a reply back from Clavia via the distributor saying they're contemplating to implement this in a future update.RichardG wrote:Logged these issues/requests with Clavia :

Sounds like good news to me

Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
As discussed here: nord-stage-forum-f3/ns4-possible-bug-no ... 23902.html
ORGAN presets always replace both ORGAN slots.
At the same time, the PRESET II button (from previous versions) is missing.
Switching back and forth between the ORGAN slots makes sense to replace the PRESET II button.
Following that thought that means, that the inactive ORGAN slot (A or B) should be saved as well.
This is currently not the case. It's always a plain 88880000 organ (or something like that).
Not so sure about that anymore, sorry.

Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
Given the latest OS v1.04 release, I would ask all who have entered a bug on the Google sheet NS4 Issues/Bugs List to check to see if your bug has been addressed. I added a column to the far right for "FIXED with OS Version" for the OS version to be entered if your bug was addressed. After some time, I'll create another tab for all the rows of fixed bugs so the main sheet just contains issues/bugs still to be addressed. The NS4 OS update history can be found HERE for reference. Thanks!

Re: List of Nord Stage 4 known issues/bugs
Just upgraded to OS 1.08. After about half an hour playing, everything shut down for about one second, then came back on without any delay - as if nothing had happened. At the time, I was connected to my laptop while NSM was loaded in the background.
