Hammond NSMP Samples

I'm very new to Nord, having just bought a Nord 5 - I was searching for amore useable Organ sample. Love the work you've done here. However, I seem unable to upload any sample from here -or the official Nord site as the Sound Manager seems to be searching for a np5p extension? On the Nord site they seem to have npno or nsnp4 - but says it's compatible with Nord 5? I downloaded the most up to date Sound Manager, can anyone please help as it won't read NSMP or anything and honestly this is confusing me at the moment! Thanks

You are likely using the wrong NSM tab/function as np5p files are Nord Piano 5 Programs so you are probably on that tab, to load samples for the Synth you need to use the "Samp Lib" tab of NSM instead (please check NSM manual https://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads ... nd-manager for more details)

Another new user for a new to our church Nord Piano 5. Love the sounds for the Hammond B3 samples but having a difficult time downloading them to the keyboard. Finally figured that they have to be nsmp4 files and was able to alter the file extension. However the keyboard now only accepts files from version 4.1 and not the files created in version 2.0. This is with the latest update to the software on the keyboard. Anyone with any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

please do not rename the samples file extension, instead use the latest version of Nord Sound Manager

to transfer the original sample to the Nord Piano 5 which then should be converted into the correct format during the upload to the instrument.

Well, I have downloaded all the current OS updates for the Keyboard and the newest Sound manager from the website. Was able to open the files under the Sample tab on the manager, but it wouldn't accept just the nsmp extension so I tried doing the nsmp4. this got it to a point where it gave me the following pop up notice. (Download Failed- The File "B3_888_FL_C2_3rd_W" has version 2.0. The OS currently installed in your Nord Piano 5 only supports samples of version 4.x.) In looking in the Samples already installed they all say Version 4.1. I also downloaded the latest version 4 Sample editor from Nord as well thinking maybe there would be a way to convert the files, but I am well over my head here!

I see, so a direct conversion from .nsmp to .nsmp4 seems not to be possible. Which of the samples available in that thread do you want to use? There might be users who have converted some into .nsmp3 already which you then should be able to convert to .nsmp4, I may also have some time this or next week to convert them to .nsmp3 if you let me know the desired samples

I will get together with our main Keyboardist to see which samples he would like to see on the keyboard. The key board is not my main instrument as I play a 12 string guitar to lead our Praise team. Thank you! I will post the samples in the next day or so that he likes the most. Even just 3 or 4 samples would suffice to give him more options. Thanks Again, Hannon.

Hello HANNONDITUP, and welcome to the Forum! As other folks have had success loading my samples onto the Piano 5, I would suggest opening the Nord Sound Manager, clicking on the Sample tab, clicking on "organize" mode to see open sample slots, and then moving the sample you want from your laptop to an open location using "drag n drop". You should get a message asking if you want to convert the sample to NSMP4 format. The latest version of NSM was updated to finally allow conversion of user-created NSMP files to NSMP4 format on the Stage 4 like its been capable of doing for the Piano 5. Good luck to you!

Hello WannitBBBad and friends. I am a Nord Piano 5 user and have been looking for some Hammond samples to use in various numbers in my band. I listened to your samples and they sound just what I am looking for. However sadly I cannot seem to get the samples to download into my sample tab. It seems others have had similar problems. I get an error message 'File extension for 'B3_888447100_STL_Dr_W' (nsmp) is not supported by this instrument'. I have the most up to date OS and the latest version of NSM so I am at a loss as to what to do.
(I followed your suggestion of using the Organise tab and dragging and dropping to a vacant space). My PC is Windows not a Mac if that's making a difference.
