Maybe they had planned it for the 2021 Musikmesse (which will not take place, alas) so... not too long?
We have to accept that stage pianos are BY FAR the most lucrative segment of the market. Clavia is probably selling at least 20 pianos for every Lead/Wave that goes out of the warehouse...and probably 200 pianos for every drum or organ (when the C2D was even produced).
They are in the rather uncomfortable position of being a small-but-not-too-small company. If they were a boutique 2-3 person operation, they could probably do whatever they wanted without worrying too much about sales numbers...as long as they sold something. But they are a 40-person operation in a high-cost country like Sweden, competing with the Big Guys in the most ferocious segment of the market. I think that most of the competing companies are either much larger or much smaller, and/or producing everything in China.
It's a testament to Nord's philosophy and quality that they're still in the business at all, but it's no surprise that at some point in their growth they had to decide to shift their core business from synths to a more mainstream, high-grossing segment (even trying to enter the home market with the wood stand and monitors, which I find some rather awkward products for their history).
If this is the case, I wonder why Nord don't go all the way with their pianos and include built-in speakers? This would be far more aesthetically pleasing and neater than the ugly (in my opinion!) combination of a Nord Piano/Grand with Nord monitors.

Sorry, I'm not quite sure how to do the 'quote' thing!

For quoting:
Either you directly use the [ QUOTE ] button at the post you wanted to cite
or you put a [ quote="cited user" ] tag to the beginning and a [ /quote ] at the end (without the blanks).

Even if technically speaking it were possible to fit the current Nord Monitors inside the Piano or the Grand (which I don't see why it shouldn't), this would be the least desired feature by live players, who want to have their gear as lightweight as possible.

Also, apart from the weight factor, to have built in speakers, even if they were in fact identical to the current Monitors, would be a poor marketing strategy as well, because that's usually associated with low end "toyish" keyboards.

... or with high end musical furniture like some digital grands: which really cost money.

What I would do if I was Nord, is design the speakers into the Home Stand! This could be a soundbar or something similar (as is the case on many of the Roland models).
Then if its at home, it uses the stand based speakers,
If its gigging, you take the piano off the top of the stand without having to worry about the weight of speakers coming with you... problem solved :D

By the way - perhaps Piano 5 comes with a new 64 Bit architecture, what is necessary to overcome memory restrictions

Is this just speculation or is there any reason with a source for this expection? I think Nord just changed their platform, so why would they do this again so soon? I think this is highly unlikely. Also, I think the ADSP-21489 is pretty state of the art. What improvements would you expect from a 64-bit processor that are not doable with the current one?

Best regards :)

I think the owners of a Yamaha AvantGrand may disagree ;)
