Re: Dead Stage 3 88
I'm not sure if this should do any harm. But if you've got the Nord Sound Manager open, you won't be able to play at the same time.

Sorry, I was wrong. I thought, we had that issue once before, but you're right: No problem. And I didn't have a problem, too, when booting the Stage 3 with USB plugged in.

Re: Dead Stage 3 88
Isn't it still so that when the NSM reads the configuration from the stage, the stage will cut any sound? So if you play the stage and the NSM decides to sync it's settings, sound may disappear for a few seconds?Hlaalu wrote:What do you mean? The Stage does work as normal while connected to the NSM.
It's been a while since it last happened to me, but it has been reported here by others, IIRC, which lead to some confusion until the cause was uncovered.

Yes the sound possibly cuts during sync, but it takes a couple of seconds only the first time when you launch NSM, after that each subsequent editing takes like a tenth second, during which on the NS3 display the loading bar is shown. Of course, uploading and downloading sounds takes a lot more, but with Programs it's quick and in fact the NSM is even sort of designed to work as a remote "Program selector", in addition of being an organiser.
Rather, a very strange "malfunction" I had with the NSM is that it would occasionally freeze during sample loading, but... only when it's window wasn't maximized to full screen in Win 10. Crazy, huh?

I think some people even leave one end of the cable always plugged into the keyboard. Again hopefully it shouldn't matter which thing you connect first and in which order you boot... if it does matter, I don't even know what "would" be optimal in theory...FZiegler wrote:Sorry, I was wrong. Re: Dead Stage 3 88
Hi NS3 owners,
I'm helping the OP diagnose his issue.
Can NS3 owner tell me if the NS3 flashes illuminates all panel LEDs briefly after you depress the power button to turn on the NS3? My NE3 does this, wondering if same on NS3.
Thanks!

Re: Dead Stage 3 88
No. No flashing LEDs after switching on. My NS3 Compact only lights the main OLED display showing "Nord Stage 3", then after a moment a progression bar for loading the OS. After loading the OS, it just switches into normal panel "enlightenment" for the program. The only LED blinking is the one of the panel A/B buttons which is active.

Re: Dead Stage 3 88
Thanks FZiegler,
I hoped to find a strobed signal of sufficient duration to detect with the OP's test equipment... I'll keep looking.

Yes mine does do this, and I am pretty sure someone else already pointed that out some time ago. I think it's normal.pterm wrote:Hi NS3 owners,

The intensity though is much weaker than a LED normally lit up.
FZiegler, look better!

Re: Dead Stage 3 88
OH NO! Hlaalu and FZiegler told me opposite things. How surprising!
Actually I think I poorly chose my words asking my original question. Please see this correction:
Sorry to Fziegler for any confusion. I hope you find time to answer my reworded question.
Thanks to Hlaalu for providing a alternative answer.
