For the Nord models with dedicated piano EQ control, using that function provides you more flexibility to use the EQ effects section with other sounds in a given program. I generally use the Bright setting to cut through the mix, and sometimes use two different pianos with a split, one with the best sound for the bass end of the keyboard, and the other with the best sound for the treble end.
