Electro 6D Factory Restore ('LIVE' Banks)

you'll find this yourself that it's a scalable, adaptable instrument. In laymans terms, it's a mellotron with extras, as it's basically a sampler keyboard with an open framework for nearly everything.

That is not what the Electro is. It's most of all an emulator of the 'old' electrical instruments: Hammond, Farfisa and Vox organs - these sounds are actually recreated in the instrument - and also electric pianos and other pianos as extras. Therefor the name Electro. Then the very basic sample player part is extra, added in the Electro 3 just to be able to have some basic other sounds like pads, strings etc.

The Live slots should be seen as scratchpads or places for unique situations. I use them exactly as baekgaard, and mostly when the room is too odd for my normal EQ settings. I’ll tweak to the room and store in a live slot instead having to turn the knobs every time I call the sound up.

They are also good if you are modifying a program at home and are not really sure if it will work on the stage. Store your work-in-progress to a Live location and then you can fine tune at the gig.

Whatever is in the Live slots as part of the factory default will change the moment you select one and turn a knob. They are, by nature, dynamic and are not meant to be relied upon as permanent storage for your programs.

That's helpful and interesting.

The way I intend to use my Nord, in the immediate, is in SPLIT mode. Of course, the LH and RH may sound 'balanced' at home, but on a gig this is very likely to not be the case. I will have more questions regarding this in due course...

for clarification, you have the piano engine and synth / sampler. percentage wise, the sampler for both the piano and synth covers a large spectrum. The Electro is of course an organ, so yes, I'm well aware of that, having played with and worked with them, I was merely stating a point to my uk counterpart that not to worry and to get him to understand the basic concepts of the stage, etc.

Does the FS6 require a battery? A bit of a waste in this case? I thought that any pair of passive momentarily pair of switches would do it, or am I wrong?

firstly the FS6 has LED indicators so therefore part of it requires power. a dual switch shouldn't need power from a battery and I agree it's mad, but that's boss for you, unlesss there's something better, compatible and doesn't use batteries, I'm in

By the way, I have a real soft spot for the Electro. My current 6D-73 is my fifth. I love the simplicity and workflow. It’s got kind of a “grab and go” vibe that I don’t get from the Stage. And the new Electro 6 sounds stellar.

I agree, the Electro 6 sounds far better than the Stage Classic I had back in 2009.
