Re: New Enhanced Rhodes and filters for NS3
Spent the last few hours playing them and trying different stuff out. Big fun, very useful musically. Makes the EPs on the Nords something special. I especially like the "bark" I can now get out of them. Should sit much better in the mix as well.
I think I have gear issues ....

The xl:s are not fully mapped as far as i can tell. I guess it´s just not as streched as before, and with more layers.
I've listened carefully to the Nef now and sometimes it's every note, sometimes every other and sometimes every third note.

Good to hear. One of my complaints has been that the EP that gave me the best bark was not my favorite at softer volumes, and vice versa. This provides hope that maybe I'll now get the combination I want!cphollis wrote:I especially like the "bark" I can now get out of them.

Hello my north stage with the new software 2.00 has huge bass ... Is it possible that my ns 3 has some problem? Really too many lows ..NordPH wrote:I think a step further in the right direction would be better amp sims also.
Me and a friend actually borrowed one of the rhodes being sampled by Nord and "Freddan".
We then played it side by side with the Nord and both going into a sixties Fender Bassman amp. None of us could tell wich was wich in a blindtest when listening.
That says a lot about the sound..

Yeah well, whatever minor issues with the new EPs, I'm super happy. Played through good amplification (and DYNO), they are awesome for what I do.
Example? At rehearsal last night, I started an intro into Evil Ways on EP, just fooling around. The band wouldn't start the song because they were all grooving on the real-deal EP sounds I was cranking up. I had to yell at them to actually start the song. They said "no, keep going!". Ok, fine, I can do that. 24 bars of piano solos later, we finally started the song.

I think it was EP4 Mk5, Dyno 2 with a bit of reverb, through a CPS Spacestation V.3. It was great fun to slap around. Plenty of snap and pop. The difference from before is so noticeable, it's almost like I bought a new keyboard.

They are great fun. By chance I layered one of the new EPs on top of the Amped EGrand and all of a sudden a whole new world opens up.

Re: New Enhanced Rhodes and filters for NS3
First update (ver. 2.00) I have done since 1.36 on my Stage 3 and delighted with the new El Pianos and dyno filters.
Had my Stage 3 for a year now and still play it pretty much every day. Never done that with my previous non-Nord keyboards, which says a lot I think. Most 'musical' and rewarding portable keyboard I have ever owned.

I really like the new enhanced Rhodes Mk1 suitcase (EP2) with the Dyno2 filter and a little bass-cut. Sounds much better than before.
