Are you certain the NS3 does NOT include the "122 Close" model in its Leslie sim? That would be really good to know. If not, then it will still need a Ventilator or similar to improve the sound, like the NS2.
Nords: NE2, NS2 88, NS3 Compact x 2
Live rig: NS3, Vent, Radial KL-8, Shure PSM-900 IEM Rig, UE18 & UE7 IEMs.
Studio: Hammond A-101 & Leslie 122, Yamaha CP-80, Yamaha S90, NS2, DSI Prophet-6, Vent II, Roland JX-8P.

Dude, at this price point, if something like that is a make or breaker, maybe you should be shopping B3s :)

I don't think we'll have the answer to this question until there's a finished product, and/or the user manual is online. So far - there is a degree of speculation regarding features of the NS3.

As I said. I'm definitely not 100% sure. I had a lot of questions and Musikmesse is loud, noisy and busy.
There's definitely a chance I got that wrong. Sorry if so..
Thank you very much for spending your time and giving us this extremely helpful report. So you're right, we'll have to wait for definitive answers when the product is ready. ;)

Agree and anyway the text on the NS3 product page states:

Vintage Rotary Speaker
The Nord Stage 3 features the latest generation of our vintage 122 Rotary Speaker simulation (...)

so I hope when they say "latest" they really mean it, including the Close version (but let's be patient and we will see or, better, hear ;) )

Very interesting, that the 122 close leslie would not be supported. That would be a step back from NE5 and C2D and no advance from NE2EX? I cannot imagine this is true. The comparison chart says "From Nord C2D", which would mean "normal" and "close".

Uli
This would be a HUGE mistake if they don't support the 122CLOSE leslie sim on the NS3.

That is the most popular and best sounding model by far.

Everyone I have spoken with that owns an Electro 4 / 5 uses that one.

Let's hope this information is inaccurate or it changes.
Can anybody show some audio about the difference between Leslie 122 and 122 close?

I tried the 122 and the 122close yesterday on my E5D. And there is a huge difference. On the 122close the leslie effect is much stronger. I will try to record a sample and post a link.

Uli

P.S.: In the comparison chart for the Stage 3 they say: Rotary Speaker Simulation: From Nord C2D. So this should be the newest one.

Not a make or break feature; I'll get the NS3 regardless of it. But it would surely make things convenient! With my NS2 88 and NS2EX 76 I have collected a total of THREE different Ventilators - one for home, one for rehearsal space, one for gig rig. It would be mighty convenient to not need those with the NS3!

As for shopping B3s, I have an A-101 with Leslie 122, so I'm good there. :D
