Actually, will probably get a Waldorf Quantum instead, since Clavia support has been kind of lame and they never developed the wave firmware to the obvious full potential - not even bothering to update the integration to sound manager and editor like they did with all the other keyboards that now have better/quicker sample management that links samples by name, not position # and relinking options and such. Waldorf can read meta in wav and aif and it has granular synthesis as well as traditional sampling. 3 oscillators, 2 analog filters per voice... yeahhhhh

Are you a software developer? Even that "larger" sum's difficult to take seriously. The economics just don't add up.

Considering the product is already built, the proprietary SDK is already built, a patching and firmware update system is developed, they've already gone through trial and error R&D, have released numerous patches already and thus have knowledge and guidelines to do it quickly, etc, etc.... It probably actually isn't. What makes it least likely, is just how Clavia is themselves. We're not talking about building something from scratch here


they should be doing it for free, let alone for any amount of money - I listed a price to hopefully entice them out of their shell.

it would only be to their benefit to do this, it's good promotion, it recirculates interest in their products, get people posting videos, more people using Clavia on stage and in the studio, on projects, etc, etc. It would cost more money to have that level of promotion than it would to have a guy code a patch.

All they have to do was add file sampling oscillator to the Lead 4 and it would have been an expanded wave

HAD* OKAY, ALL THEY - - HAD - - TO DO. It's pretty much a Wave expanded, minus the .wav.

Well, they have enough to do with the stage 3, that still has few things to fix, they have to re-think about a new C3 organ clone, and a new Lead as both NL4 and NLA1 have been released few years ago....
People who have a wave or people who might buy one (Maybe me?) will keep it as a collector on top of being a great Synth....

The Nord Wave became one of my favourite synthesizer in my set-up. A real sonic cameleon. I also think it will become a classic/collector item in the future. The price drop down a few years ago, i bought mine for CHF 700/700$ there is 3 years ago in almost mint conditions. Actualy, no chance to find one under CHF 1'200.
