It's back to to the Silver Grand for live blues/rock gigs with my current band/rig.

You could try to use the equaliser for that. I used 4,5 db + on 2k. The piano reacts very well to eq.

For live playing I preferred the yamaha upright (character) and the kawai silver (bright but full enough for live). But I'll try this one the next performance , it has a very nice shinny mid/upper sound I haven't found in the other piano's. The decay is acceptable.

I absolutely love this new piano. Played great in headphones, but even more importantly, it sounded great at a show this evening along with two loud guitar players. I usually use either the bosendorfer or the velvet grand (both XL), but throughout the first 3 or 4 songs I kept A/Bing them to the Royal Grand and there's something about the mid to low range that is just so nice and authentic sounding, that I couldn't stay away from it.

Downloaded and installed it today. I like it a lot. It is like VR for the ears. The sound is really three-dimensional. Perfect for practice.

Yes its my new favorite piano. I was using Velvet and Italian on my NP3, but this one has much more presence. Lovely character particularly mid to upper range.
So between Royal Grand 3D XL and Nerfitti for Rhodes I'm very happy

I run both outputs into my QSC and keep mono off. I'm not hearing any phase issue, and the resulting sound is overall fuller and stronger than running out of one channel only.
Yes, I agree. I do the same when I have to play with mono PA, although in my opinion all Nord pianos benefit from stereo a lot more than other manufacturers' keyboards. The Mono button, however, seems to make the sound too bright and thin for some reason.

The Royal Grand sounds very beautiful and natural with headphones. Haven't tested it with speakers yet as I just downloaded it.

Absolutely...the VR feeling is a little more pronounced on headphones than on usual studio monitors. I relly dig this new piano ! Next week, i will try it in a live gig context, with 8 band mates.

I think we have to wait a while for the XL Rhodes sample. According to my secret information, there are many new grand pianos in the pipeline, that will be released first:

The White Grand, the New York Grand, the Diamond Grand, the Princess Grand, the Golden Grand I, the Golden Grand II, the Virtual Grand 4D, the Austrian Grand and then the Blu Grand which is suitable for Jazz.

And the Anti-Grand, which is a grand that doesn't sound like a grand because, you know, you need one of those too...

The Royal Grand is fabulous! I was tempted to buy a Yamaha CP-4 but I didn't want the weighted keys. Nord released this S6 sound just in time and I upgraded my electro 3 to an electro 5! Couldn't be happier :)

I don't know what sounds you guys are hoping for but in my opinion there can never be too many acoustic and electric pianos. I would love to try the NY and the Blu Grand ;)
