Hi All, OP here. I just wanted to report on my NP3 middle C knocking issue. It has been resolved. Thanks to the great service of Pablo Mastodon with American Music and Sound, I was able to send it off to them, have them repair it, and get it back to me all within 2 weeks which is great turnaround time in my opinion. The service and communication was superb. The keybed is quiet as a mouse now. Good luck to all and happy playing.

I have ordered a np3 that is to arrive in 3 days. Not aware of the noise until now. I'm wondering, are there any piano 3 owners who have not experienced this problem or is this an inherent defect with all units?
All keys with noise... a characteristic. Only some randomly ... a defect.

I have the problem on mine too. Two of the keys have the knocking sound, i tried another one at the store where it had one key with the same problem. It is very low noise, yet annoying when practicing in low volume, and unacceptable at this price point in my opinion. Hope this will be resolved soon, i had a dexibell s3 before wich uses the same fatar tri-sensor keybed, and it had a similar problem and I had to return it. Keys are very good, best ive tried yet, but the noise on two of the keys is un-cool...

Hi,
Is the noise a "clic" when you release the key in question ? (even if you release it not so fast, normaly playing) ?
Like Thum/clic Thum/clic (press release, press release)
Thanks

yes sounds about exactly like that, upon release, soft or normal playing.

My middle A and middle E begins to click ....
Quietly but I can hear it sometimes ... I guess that are keys that I use a lot and the grease has change of place ...
If it stays like this, not a problem.
Is this growing with time ? We will see.
I can ear it sometimes in quiet environement in wich I use the NP3 a lot ...
Cheers

I have the same release sound on my middle C key. It makes and odd sound on dotted notes, stronger than the other keys, when the release is fast. So, jbhowerton, was the repair free, on warranty ?
Best regards,
Etienne

My Nord P3 has been in the shop for 3 weeks; Advanced Musical (L.A.) says they are still waiting for replacement felts from Nord. But this problem with respect to the keybed on the NP3 arose just weeks after the machine was put on the market. The first notices on this forum began around Oct 2016 and now it's Feb '17. My private messages to Pablo, my public messages, my personal emails, except for the very first, three weeks ago, have all gone unanswered. I've rediscovered the virtues of the Roland RD-800 and, after playing the RD-2000 at NAMM, I've pre-ordered one.
A user on this forum asks if these repairs will be under warranty. As an attorney who works with and teaches FTC cases, (Federal Trade Commission), products sold come with various warranties imposed by law, one of which, is the Warrant of Merchantability, To be "merchantable", the goods sold must reasonably conform to an ordinary buyer's expectations, i.e., they are what they say they are. In brief, a piano has to perform as a piano. A keybed that 'clanks' with a loud metallic sound
