Re: indents on white keys, waterfall electro
I have no clue. What kind of places replace keys for nords?

Too weird...but it's clearly not from play. Someone or something is either hitting the keys with something sharp or teething on them.
Point of procedure - when I'm not playing my Electro, it's either in a zipped bag or it's on my rack covered with a full length beach towel. I use that to keep dust off, but it would keep animals or humans off the keys as well.

Re: indents on white keys, waterfall electro
I actually experienced lots of damage on my RV from mice. They chewed up all of my spark plug wires and nested in my air filter. Not sure why they were interested in the spark plug wires. I can understand air filter. I ended up putting a screen on the intake vent leading to my air filter.maurus wrote:Some small animals do indeed chew on plastic materials.
Sorry to be slightly off topic (unless this issue being reported is a critter problem).

Teeth marks. You have a cat. Probably the one time you thought you put it away, but didn't.

Re: indents on white keys, waterfall electro
Here's a heads up on this problem. My Nord Electro 3 with waterfall keys has now started to have the same problem.
It seems like the top of the white plastic keys are disintegrating and leaving what looks like lots of indentations on the surface. You can feel them very distinctly when playing. These are all in the middle area of the keyboard and more specifically on the B, C, D and E notes of both the 2nd and 4rd octaves. All of the other keys are fine.
At first I thought something had maybe been spilt of them that had corroded them but the keyboard has been stored in a sealed flight case for the last three years and the indentations were definitely not there prior to being stored. I think this is some sort of fault in the plastic moulding or maybe whatever way the keys are given their shiny top coating and this is breaking down up as they age?

Re: indents on white keys, waterfall electro
Maybe Nord can come out with some Red nail clippers and Red Emery boards to sand those nails down. My old piano teacher would go ballistic when she heard the click of a fingernail on the keys.

Re: indents on white keys, waterfall electro
Working in IT we'd have the same problem with rats chewing on network cable runs. What I found out is a lot of the insulation on wiring uses animal fat in the stuff they make the insulation. The rodents can smell that animal fat and will chew on the wiring.jfenton wrote:I actually experienced lots of damage on my RV from mice.
