Anyone who can't find at least one piano sample in the current Nord library that they really enjoy probably should not be considering a Nord Piano 5.

Yeah, as mentioned multiple times, it's true that it's been a while since the last piano releases, apart from the White Grand (2019), all the others are at least 4-5 years old. But it's also true that I really don't feel any need for new pianos. At this point, I can hardly imagine a new sample that gives me something totally new.

My workhorses are the Silver for a bright sound and the Velvet for a soft one, and a variety of uprights for "character" pianos.
As much as I like toying with other samples now and then, I keep going back to those ones.
When you factor in EQ, reverb, compression and possibly layering, there was literally never an occasion when I couldn't find a satisfactory piano sound for any need.

Who cares how old the samples are if they sound good? After all, real acoustic pianos don't seem to need sound updates every few years.

There's a piano sample in the library for almost every need. And if you can't find one to suit your taste & style, there are other manufactures' products to consider.

Well that was an interesting basket of responses. To the question "will it happen?" the tone was universal:

I don't care, things are perfect now, if you want more you'll never be satisfied, anyone who asks shouldn't be here, there's already plenty to choose from...

Seeing a trend here. Kind of a passive defensive.

Nonetheless, Clavia does go on about offering regular new samples as a principal selling point to their product lines. Given this promise...it was a fair question.

Our exclusive Nord Piano Library is regularly updated with new unique world class sounds, and always free of charge.

No one said things are perfect, or that more choices aren't desirable. That universal set of responses you received were a reaction to your post, which reads as basically, "when will Nord give us a piano that isn't crap?" And the answer is that most people think they've already done that.

@Gambold: Probably, this won't change your mind about the forum neither: nord-electro-forum-f9/before-i-pull-the ... 20882.html
As it wasn't a dedicated piano player who asked.

I think it’s possible to be pleased but not fully satisfied. The minute one is fully satisfied, there’s nothing left to work for is there? The keepers of the library likely aren’t satisfied and there will be more to come. Eventually. I fight with myself in wanting more samples ALL THE TIME and yet sticking with 2 or 3 for 98.76% of what I play....

I may suggest too that White offered something quite different - overall perhaps the most real and musical piano in the library and if that’s a hint of what’s to come - who WOULDN’T want an updated Steinway D, Yamaha C7, or Bosendorfer?? Yes, what we have is outstanding - I’m pleased. And imagining what a next generation may sound like makes me unsatisfied :-)

It’s certainly possible to be in both places at once....

Well, that's a completely incorrect and accusatory misreading of my question. Lightly denigrating too. Next.

When you say, "Or are they going to ship out this out with only the only-adequate White Grand as their leading sample?" it sure sounds to me like you're saying you're disappointed in all the Nord piano sounds, i.e. they have nothing better than "adequate."
