Thanks for these suggestions!
I, for one, would be interested in sampled percussion instruments as well.

Bravo ;)
My concern and the choice I made for the final version of the sample was mostly to limit the instrument noise especially on bowed strings (Huqin=Erhu+Zhonghu+Gaohu) and the orchestral section I made out of those samples, the problem was bow noise is very loud if the mic is close.
I've used Izotope RX4 to adjust the ratio but even this amazing software can't make perfect miracle.
Either it sounds clean but not very natural, or it sounds too dirty.
The other option which would have been more expensive is to record in a large room or concert hall and capture the sound balanced with this natural reverb, it would be good if I aim for a section but there would be much less attack and that would be annoying on a keyboard.
Thank you for you explanation!
I didn't know the specificities of these instruments...and yes those noise correctors/atenuators can be a bit tricky, especially on the high frequencies (muddy, dull)…although they can be very handy on certain situations. Sometimes I use them (dsp-quattro) to tame clicks and pops on clients records.
to sum it up: I have to say it again, the more I read about this process the more I admire these samples (the tuning, the quality of the instruments and musicians, etc).

A second demo has been uploaded on nordkeyboards official soundcloud

https://soundcloud.com/nordkeyboards/ch ... -orchestra

This one was made before the final pitch correction. It is a multitrack recording made exclusively with my Nord Electro 4 and no effect at all (pitch bend...). I hope it gives you more ideas about the potential of this collection.

I loaded a few of these up this week and had a chance to give them a test in my weekly improv jam that I attend.. Starting with BiNoO's advice I worked the liuqin into some funk grooves, just added the twin amp effect with a little bit of distortion and it punched right through the mix, with that nice eastern sound on the attack and initial envelope. Added a little autowah after a bit and it worked great. Added the high feedback delay and it piled up really nicely!

Also played around with the guqin samples a bit.. I like the bend version a lot!

Some really nice additions to my sonic pallette, thanks again! I'll have to dig into the new package this weekend.

It seems that Clavia has taken this library off of their site. However, I was able to find the older 2014 version on the WayBack machine.

I did see that there is a newer post of a 2.0 Chinese Orchestra. However these are probably not the newer "2015" versions that Pierre referenced.

Additionally, Dade posted all of the libraries taken down from the Clavia website when they did the update. He also posted the Chinese Orchestra 1.0 individual files, and the Sonatinas.

Thanks for the update. I've updated my initial post as well.
