ciao

HI on the NS 4 or on the Nord electro I don't know how the studio grand 2 sounds. Mine is a completely personal opinion. On my NS 3 88 the studio grand 2 also sounds better in the upper part of the keyboard where apparently the new version should be been strengthened... Having said this, for me the internship is irreplaceable! I will continue to use the studio grand 2 lr!
Sorry aboaut first!!

I've made an A/B comparison and I can confirm a louder volume/presence up high in the 6th to 7th octave, a welcome "correction of a flaw" or "tuning of a character" as some would say.
Also I can hear a slightly brighter sound in the lower octaves.
The rest is pretty much identical to my ears.
About the XL, this is also a welcome addiction.
I still have to compare that with the Lrg but I want to stress out that in general the full mapping Nord is mentioning in their charts is "the fullest Nord decide to have" for an XL vs Lrg version of a piano sound.
Still, this is very far from being really a full one to one note samples mapping.
It's clear if you listen that even an XL has one sampling every 2 or 3 notes. Some single sampled note can rarely be found here and there. This old sound, and it has not changed in the new XL version, has even 4 notes with the same sample in more than one spot.
For example this is really clear for D4,Eb4,E4,F4 (which is weird).

One personal note:
This sound seems to me very similar to that of these two records by Keith Jarret + Charlie Haden
- Jasmine
- Last Dance
What do you think? :)

Still, Bb5 B5 C6 (which I think are using the same sampling) are weak with respect to the surroundings.
The problem with these things is that they come in the way during my solos. It's like running with a debrie in a shoe.

improved version of the Studio Grand 1 would be highly appreciated. This oldy but goody is still one of my favorite grand I wonder why so few positif reactions about it are to find at this forum. For my taste very natural, round and balanced, nice for ballads and pop songs and much more. Even with the much newer samples white grand or royal grand I cannot get an adequate sound.

After a long time, I'd like to know who uses the ST Grand 2 on the NS 4-88, preferring it to other samples. Do you use the XL version or the M? I prefer the M; it seems more balanced on the upper part of the keyboard than the XL (the sound is a bit strident there). Do you play them flat or do you EQ them? Thanks
