Thanks for confirming also to you!Amadrius wrote:If I understand correctly, you just want to detune 2 saw waves? You can do this using two synth slots. You can fine tune the pitch of each layer. Too bad it takes two slots, though.

Yes indeed, what a reliefmaxpiano wrote:Good, @Nordlicht: you have a solution apparentlyAmadrius wrote:It’s the oscillators section, pitch/smp button, then fine knob/cent on the oled screen.
And I would have been very surprised indeed if this had not been possible. But it is strange that this is not mentioned in the manual .

as the Stage 4 synth section is based on the Wave 2 (where this is implemented): is it possible to individually fine tune the single layers?
For example, I want to build a classic "analog" synth sound with two or three saw waves and detune them slightly.
I know this could be done with the unison function, but then you get automatically panned voices.
Thanks!
I'm sorry, I've only just read your question.
Unfortunately, in the Nord Stage 4/Nord Wave 2, there are no two-oscillator layer configurations as we know them from the Nord Stage 3/Nord Lead 4-3-2-1.
I consider this "feature" a significant omission, as in Nord Stage 4/Nord Wave 2, you need to use two layers to achieve a classic two-oscillator synthesizer setup.
It's truly absurd for both instruments, but especially for the Nord Wave 2, which has "performance SYNTHESIZER" written on the panel.
It's unacceptable that Nord is considering single-oscillator synthesizers for these two instruments.
Nord should seriously consider adding DETUNE and MIX configurations, so that users have the ability to utilize a layer for a typical two-oscillator setup.
I sincerely hope that Nord takes this matter into consideration because it's not just another request for something strange to be added here or there; it's a fundamental function of an instrument called a synthesizer.

Totally agree. We need either the mixable dual oscillator configurations that were available on the stage 3 or some other solution to have more oscillator configurations on one slot. We already have saws in 5ths, octaves, etc. if they would just add a bunch more of those that would help. The unison feature is great but it is not the same thing.
I would love it if you could set up your three slots anyway you want and “bank” the setup to just one slot. That would be extremely powerful. I guess you might run into polyphony issues with that though.

Here, as a "proof" how it looks in real life. It works with all Waveform sources (analog, FM, wavetable, sample).Amadrius wrote:It’s the oscillators section, pitch/smp button, then fine knob/cent on the oled screen.
