So, a couple questions that I hope will help others as well: if one sets up separate effects for A and for B, and then selects "ABC", I assume that won't effect any synth layers until an effect parameter is changed in order to not overwrite what was already set up for A and B, is that correct? I also assume that ABC can be used to set up general effects parameters for all 3 layers and then you can toggle to A, B, and C to tweak each individually from that starting point. Is that correct as well? Thanks!

No, the effect settings of the selected layer are immediately applied to the remaining two other layers as soon you select ABC.

Thank you Qagan. I'll ask it a different way just to clarify. It sounds like initially if you toggle through to ABC that you would hear all three layers with no effects (default until a parameter is changed), however I assume that if you leave all effects off and toggle back to A, the effects previously set for A are still intact along with what was set up for B, and only the action of turning on effects and changing parameters while in ABC mode would result in the previous parameters for A and B being changed when you toggle back to them. Is that correct? Thanks again.

No, the moment you toggle to group ABC via shift button, and the settings are applied to all layers, it wont go back to the previous settings even if you haven't touched a single parameter in ABC mode. the copied setting keep being applied once you toggle to ABC.
addition: Also you can toggle to ABC with just one or two layers of the synth unit being active. The application to the other synths remain, until you change preset on a layer.

Thanks, I was unaware that one needed to hold down "shift" to access the ABC group. That operation now makes sense.
