This doesn't concern Sustain (#64) or Ctrl pedal (#11), but always ModWheel (#1) as far as I can see. So, in the eyes of Clavia, it doesn't seem to be handled as standard CC though it surely is.
Agree, I don't want to enter in that type of discussion too, but then at least they (Clavia) should make it more clear on the manuals (and possibly explain why MW/CC1 is excluded from the filter), so I am still convinced that at the moment, based on what the NW2 manual says, the fact that CC#1 is still being sent even when CONTROL CHANGE is set to Off/Receive in MIDI menu is a bug :)

Thank you all.

Well than when they are not treated as cc a cc filter wont help i think.
I will have to by a more advanced midi filter were i can determine the exact midi data i want to filter.
Ordered a cheap miditech filter where you can filter via knobs on the device.

What i can say is that it worked on my nord lead a1 perfectly. Sold that btw.

Yes firmware is up to date

Hey, so my midi tech midi filter is here and it seems to filter out all unwanted cc data from the mod wheel and so on.
I testet it with the midi monitor software. Midi Monitor is only receiving note data now. Perfect.

However, my vocoder doesn't get no midi information at all any more, though nordwave, midi tech midi filter and the vocoder are on the same channel =/

So midi monitor software shows clearly that nordwave is sending data, but when I plug it into my Roland vocoder the vocoder does not work. Without the midi filter it works.
Tried cables and so on.

Seems like my Roland vt4 vocoder can't handle the signals that are coming from the midi tech midi filter, even when the midi filter is on "thru" mode.

Now I am so close and still it doesn't work. :-(

Found one workaround that works, assigning all wheel morphs not to the wheel but to an externall expression pedal. So I don't use the wheel but the pedal for filters and so on.
For Friday gig that's fine but not a solution for eternity :-)

Could be due to the fact that the Miditech Thru/Filter is powered by the MIDI IN (so by the NW2) with a voltage lower than nominal, so the resulting OUT voltage is too low for the Vt4 (while still OK for your computer MIDI interface, apparently), it can happen with some devices, which is btw why MIDI Solutions also sells this https://midisolutions.com/prodpwr.htm (basically a powered MIDI Thru)

So it seems that the assignment to the Morph makes the CC1 bypass the MIDI Control change setting... interesting, so with this workaround you should see the ExpPedal = CC11 passing thru instead (or the issue is only related to morphing with the MW?)

Interesting!
Well I guess I will order the midi solutions filter and test it.
Could be an explanation, thanks!

ModWheel is definitely a CC (CC #1) by definition in the MIDI Standard and since the v1.0 of the MIDI Specifications
You're right, I think I got confused with pitch bend!... :) Which, if I'm not mistaken, isn't a CC...

It might still be the case that the choice by Clavia side to exclude some of the CCs from the filtering is due to a "special treatment" they give to some commands (pitch bend and mod wheel being among them), regardless if they're CC or not. But yes, the way it is now doesn't make much sense...

I'm not sure I follow: they aren't "treated" as CC in the sense that they are apparently not filtered by the onboard settings (decision/bug by Clavia), but this doesn't mean that CC#1 is a different kind of MIDI event than all the others. Any "normal" MIDI filter should work.

In other words, the bug is that CC#1 is still sent/received when it isn't supposed to, not that ModWheel isn't a CC on Nord keyboards.

My filter filters out the unwanted commands, but my vt4 doesn't recieve any information anymore, when the filter is in the signal chain. that's the problem right now :-(
