Hi WannitBBBad,

In my screengrab 7 posts above, you can see that I have 3 Wav files, plus 2 Nord files in 1 folder. After dragging the Wavs onto the NSE root-keys, I clicked on SAVE ("consolidate" is shaded grey at this point), and then 'create project folder'.

But is it possible to perform a "consolidation" AFTER the abovementioned steps, please? Or does such an operation need to be interjected elsewhere?

I consolidate the files for a sample after it's ready to save. No matter the location of the original WAV files used, the Nord Sample Editor will put copies of the WAV files used in a "Media" folder where the project file is located. I'll usually set up a folder for the project and resulting NSMP/NSMP3 sample, and then the consolidate feature will place any WAV files used in a Media folder with the project folder.

Thanks so much for taking the time to explain here.

So does the 'consolidation' actually produce anything DIFFERENT to what I currently have in my (screenshot) folder? I mean, other than the Wav(s) and the two Nord files? Or is is more a matter of convenience in that it saves the user some donkey work by automatically placing the Wav(s) into the appropriate folder (which is what you seem to indicate). What I am trying to say/ask is that: it does not create a NEW file called (say) "Nord Sample Consolidation" file, or similar?

What you have in your screenshot folder covers it, the Consolidate function doesn't create anything other than copying all WAV files used for the sample into a "Media" folder. You might have a single WAV file that you used as the basis for multiple samples you created - if you had separate folders set up for each sample project, consolidate would copy that WAV file and any others used for each project into their own Media folder where each project resides.

Then it definitely does have it's use.
