The round robin feature in NP5 made a new format probably inevitable, some other new features maybe, too. Which is called evolution. And we should be well accustomed to that thing through our computers and smartphones. Something you may hate or not.

I nevertheless think that I'll continue to be happy with my Stage 3 for the next years.

Before I start - 'objection hearsay - objection foundation' (to myself) just to make sure I'm just speculating as everyone else ;)

IMO there is a small possibility that Nord will release a new instrument during NAMM 2022 (early June). Regarding the release dates I think a new Nord Stage could be on the horizon.
Also maybe Nord is releasing firmware updates for some of the current instruments to enable the usage of Library 4.0.

What bothers me a bit is the time span between the release of Nord Piano 5 (Juni 2021) and the recent Library 4.0 release. It took them almost a year to release the library which could be an indicator that they maybe have some internal troubles.
Maybe they struggle with some financial problems because I don't really get it why during covid it took them so long since developing software can be done at home office as well (at least where I'm working at).
Knowing from my recent visit of Stockholm their internet works just fine so no excuse from that point of view ;)

Some of the new samples would be really nice to use them on my Nord Grand. So fingers crossed Nord will soon release a firmware update but considering the mentioned time span I doubt it.

I was just about to write that it smells as if there would be a Stage 4 in the air ready to be presented at NAMM.
Cheers from Germany

I hope so as well, especially NW2 given it was released only 2 years ago, and hasn’t had an OS update in 18 months. It would be a good way to roll up any fixes and the new format into a 2.0 update.

There does not appear to be Sound Manager software compatible with my Piano 5 with which to load samples from Library 4. Is Sound Manager v7.66 compatible with Piano 5 and Sample Library 4?

Hi, which version of Sound Manager do you use? Support for Piano 5 has been added in v7.56 according to the update history, this is 6 released before the current v7.66

Thanks for the info.
Just downloaded the samples in new format. Very few changes except the Mellotron library that has been fully converted (from what was available in v4.01).
Voices are missing the ZIP file and don't contain as much as the v3 :)

Next step would be indeed the OS upgrade for the NS3 + NSM/NSE full compatibility.
