Found this. Not as expensive as I thought.

A potential Stage killer?

If you're only interested in synth sounds, definitely (but then, you probably wouldn't buy a Stage in the first place).
You get much more synth than what's in the Stage (and arguably any other Clavia synth so far, with the honorable exception of the Modular) at a high but still reasonable price.

As for everything else it doesn't even compete, as it's completely missing a piano and organ section. This is definitely a synth, even if very powerful and versatile. It's not even comparable to a dedicated digital piano or organ.

A quick Google search of "Sweetwater Nord Wave 2" shows a google result of "pre-order 2699.99 USD$, but when you click on it, the link has been taken down. I guess Sweetwater got their wrist slapped for breaking the embargo too early. (if you ever want to know a price before a release, just google the new product with the word Sweetwater. They seem to be focused on being the first to market.

Let me think about it .......... Well, no

It takes the empty spot the first gen Nord Wave left.
The inclusion of a Waterfall keybed is amazing...

The only thing I’d love to see in this thing would be Midi Channel Output per Patch

What I’d love to see is custom patch names. I’m a little surprised they’re still doing numbers with the large OLED display. And Impulse morph with the updated features? Love it.

Isn't that "Nord Wave 2" underneath the A:11 in that bottom image at the Nord site the custom patch name?

Have to look at it better but first impression seems a scaled down stage with oscillator section from original wave and some spicy modern features thrown in like gate d arp seen before on novation xio...
But 1GB for sample in 2020 is just ridiculous as well just one lfo per part...
The original wave had two per part, had dedicated vibrato, formant filter... All gone.
The original wave was something totally different from other synth and from other clavia products... Now nord is just more and more blurring the lines between its product without any real innovation

You might be right. I don’t see any reason they’d require the name of the instrument under each patch. Man, that would make me happy. I can use so many more patches when I can remember them by name.

Is this really so impressive? I can not say anything for sure, dont know much about this new Wave.
Just seems to me that is has got very limited modulation.

BUT
I dont think it has a lot of competition in synths using samples as oscillators. Prophet X? There is a big price gap though.
