This 'unofficial' Forum is dedicated to the Clavia Nord Keyboards, including the Nord Stage, Nord Electro and Nord Piano. Discuss any issues around Nord's keyboards, share your favorite patches, samples, and music. We are not affiliated with Clavia!
Everything about Nord keyboards in general; which one to choose, the sound manager, sample editor, and general discussion about the sample and piano libraries.

Tell me again how this forum isn't basically hostile toward new users. "Search the forum!" "Why didn't you do your research before you bought it?" "Why on earth did you upgrade the OS on your computer?"
What?
Dude. Installing a BETA operating system and then shitting on Nord for not supporting it isn’t a newbie thing. That’s just completely unrealistic, and if you’re gonna pound on that point, you’re going to keep getting told that you are the problem, and nobody else.
Being told to use the search function isn’t „hostile“. It’s the first step in making this place more useful.
And asking something, finding out that what you want isn’t possible, and cutting your losses, or asking what might be the logic behind it, is quite different from asking something, being told it isn’t possible, and then raging about what a shitty product...YOU bought.

In the couple months before I got my stage 3 I had downloaded the manual and read it cover to cover at least twice - all but memorized it. I also watched dozens of YouTube video tutorials and demos. When I finally got my S3C - I already knew how to run it completely as well as what it could and could not do, and there were no surprises. I don't always do that much research, but for a 3K+ keyboard to be the centerpiece of my set-up, you bet I will!

That didn't take long.
You’re right.
cgrafx posted pretty much the same thing I wrote a mere ten hours after your post.

Yes I have done the same thing for every piece of equipment that I own.
I have sold a fair number of Nord boards locally on Craigslist, and I take extra care to make sure that prospective buyers understand what the boards can -- and can not -- do, well prior to scheduling a meet up.
About 70% lose interest when they fully understand what the board is all about. Which, of course, means they didn't even do the most basic level of research ahead of time. One has to wonder.
The remaining 30% are focused, intent buyers and we end up doing a deal. Part of the benefit for them is that they get to pepper me with dozens of questions, which I answer to the best of my knowledge.

Some of the information I would like as part of my purchase decision process is information that only the manufacturer has, and there is no other way to get it reliably.
But as problematic as Clavia support is, Roland is significantly worse. They officially drop support for products no longer current products on the price list. If you ask for support for a discontinued product, they just direct you to their web site.

Completely disagree.
When asking questions in a polite way I've gotten only polite answers, even though my inferior search skillz has caused me to ask even the noob memory and similar questions.
