I'll see if I can share a few Programs with you where I feel like I've tweaked the NS3 organ to be an improvement over the NS2 or NS2EX (I have multiples). I used the NS2 and 2EX for many years and always always always through a Vent, so I have a keen ear for what I think it should sound like. Agreed that the NS3 gain out of the box is not quite where I want it, but have made up for this via a few tweaks in both the instrument and the Vent.
What I find to be big improvements in the NS3 organ include its organic "aliveness" which is subjectively a combo of the keyclick which feels more active and natural to me, plus when I use C3 chorus, I think it shimmers more realistically (though it's close to being over the top shimmery). I love using the drawbars on the NS3 Compact as well. Overall, there are still things I love about the NS2 series and will likely keep one or more of my NS2 units, but I've gotten to the point (after a fair amount of time - like 8 months!) where I'm satisfied with the NS3 to the point that I prefer it on gigs.

When using a single keyboard on a gig I need an 88 piano to cover bass parts.I can live with the NS3 organ sounds on the HA88,boosting the clean out with a Boss Space Echo pedal first before the Neo Vent.Never been happy with the gain structure,"will take it to a third party from here" thanks. The drawbars on the compact are nice to have.No problem touching the buttons though.
The other method works fine too!Enjoying synth on compact more than HA88 too!
Where do I assign foot pedal control to midi CC#49 to keep both hands on the keys AND toggle mono/legato for synth solos?
No problem doing this on the external menu?

Have you tried the Kybd/Guitar switch on the Vent? IIRC, the guitar position boosts the gain.
On my Vent 1 the Guitar switch bypass the Leslie amp emulator, so there was only the spinning effects left. But there was also a LO/HI switch. I do not know the Vent II.

Oh, yes, I meant the LO/HI switch.

Yes the switch adjusts the input level. Also reduces the overall bandwidth a bit, compressed a little.Great for guitar pickups.
At the top of gain the organ clones object to this big time.I want a bigger, not smaller, bandwidth thanks.
When it just flickers at the top of the gain on the organ setting,it sounds perfect! Means it has run out of headroom.
Thankfully the Boss Space Echo gets me there with some headroom left like this A100 will do without it.......no problem.
I need to hold back the amp sims for basses on these Stage3's.Not using any organs through them, which is no different than the old Stage EX.

Hey Nord, how about some SWR,Ampeg bass amp models?Hang them off the guitar amps just like the dyno pianos......
