A switch between program and song mode is done by MSB, selecting a bank above E:55 in program mode would have to be effected through a change in LSB. So you can't say for sure: It works as it switches between program and song mode. Checking with a MIDI monitor software would still be a good idea in my eyes.

Looks like the NS3 is receiving MSB codes but not LSB codes for some reason. No clue yet whether to seek problems on Mainstage side or on NS3 side. ....struggling on....

This is what comes along in Midi Monitor:
15:36:14.339 To Nord Stage 3 MIDI Input Control 1 Bank Select 0
15:36:14.339 To Nord Stage 3 MIDI Input Control 1 Bank Select (fine) 3
15:36:14.339 To Nord Stage 3 MIDI Input Program 1 12

So, that seems to be fine. However, the NS3 is not processing the Bank Select (fine) value. (only the Bank Select)

So you tried with MSB =1 and the mode switching works instead?

PS: of course you are sending/receiving on CH1 = NS3 Global channel (right)?

Yes, MSB switching works (Program to Song to Live etc).
Sending on channel 1.

And if you manually switch Program/Bank from NS3, say you go to F-11 from E-55, what do you see on MIDI Monitor?

So if you now manually set NS3 on A:15 then send back exactly the above... it goes to A11 and not to F11?

Yes, the LSB value does not matter. So I can switch between A11 and E55. (also when I send MSB=1 I can switch between the first range of songs).
