I did not take any pics as I did the fix, but I'll see if I can do that today.

To contact Pablo, I sent in a "ticket" through the nord support site

So - NS3 SW73 (Compact) .... Here's what i'm having problems with ... sounds like maybe the same deal?

I have mod wheel set to morph in (morphing synth volume) a bell/vibe like sound over an acoustic piano on the other panel. When I initially turn the wheel up - all is fine - but usually a few seconds later while playing, the synth volume suddenly jumps way back down to like a third volume. You can actually see it change on the volume pot. Is this likely the same issue that will require a hardware fix? Although i have some moderate skills/experience working on light electronic repair, I'm worried about voiding my warranty if I take it apart. I've already had to trade in once for another unit, and not fond of the idea of doing it again, There is no repair shop easily accessible. Thoughts? Ideas?

If you move a tiny bit the wheel, does the volume jump up again? If so it may be a worn track in the pot, but I guess that it is unlikely with a modern instrument. Pots are rated for a very high number of passes.

Also, does it happen only with that patch? If so, I would make sure that the LFO is not controlling something that makes the vol go down (although you say that you see the vol indicator go down?).

well ... I had messed with the patch previously I guess and don't have the original set-up ... anyway - reconstructed the patch and don't seem to have the problem, so as you say, likely something with that patch. I don't remember the vibe/bell I had used previously, and the problem was likely with it somehow ... anyway - working now ......

If configured to morph the piano level, it won't go any further than the third or second last LED on the encoder.

I have sent a support request to Clavia, but am yet to hear back.

Damn, I have the same issue now. I can´t reach the max or minimum by using the MW for morphing. I´m thinking about fixing by myself or to send it to the dealer (abroad) to have it fixed.

For the record, this is a good video tutorial to show you how to open up a Nord more-or-less safely:
And another view for a Stage 2: (similar to stage 3 in construction)

I don't recommend you do this, and I'm not liable if you do, do it at your own risk if you choose. But the mod wheel connector is very simple to get at if you open the top cover like this. If you're careful you shouldn't need to disconnect any ribbon cables to get to it, so ignore those parts in the video unless you want to take everything apart fully.

I have received a used NS3 88 last monday. I already played and explored especially synth section which is new for me. This keyboard is very awesome.

But, I first had a bad surprise with a missing knob, but ordering one is very cheap (3 euros shipping fee included), so in fact not a big problem.

Today, I just realize that I have an issue on the famous mod wheel: for instance, when I set mod wheel morph from min to max of piano volume, minimum value is not reachable. Mod wheel can only reach second or third led of piano knob.
I already felt that mod wheel didn't have any resistance at the very beginning of the move. And If I play hard, the wheel turns a little bit by itself (near minimum value) until a resistance appears.
This issue is workaroundable but annoying and I'm afraid that priblem

What could be the problem?
I can open the keyboard, but I would prefer to have a potential fix before doing that.
Pot to be replaced? To be attached more firmly to wheel?

Thanks
