Gambold stands aghast — it was his mic.

For what is worth, my comment was not aimed directly at Gambold or anyone specifically. It's just that these themes are so recurrent that after a few years of reading this forum, they become almost a self-parody.
And I'm not immune from them: I play an old Stage 2EX and haven't even been able to try the Felt and Pearl because I simply have no space for them.

Well, heeyuks and guffaws all around, but facts don't change, regardless of any interpretation of my poor motives.
The Grand samples are old.
The primary keyboard models are old.
It will be a new generation that will be keeping the company afloat.
They are gonna want new things.
Especially if the asking price is north of three grand.
Reflect on the price of the Yamaha YC73. It's not a happy omen for Clavia's marketing department. Especially because Yamaha doesn't act like they operate out of a secret batcave. People like to know they have a dependable line of communication with a manufacturer when dropping thousands on a product, and no, your Sweetwater rep ain't that.
So bang away on the Electro 3 and play that Studio Grand 2 with delight - but ye are the past. Who will be the future? No-one posting in this thread, praising the glories of a caliginous upright sample.

Wouldn't it be easier to just make a sort of poll/survey to see where the community stands? Maybe someone could send it to Nord??? Possible questions would be like Do you own a Nord, does Nord need an update..etc.

We already have a spreadsheet on Google Docs with all of our desiderata: leaving side our different views on Nord’s near future, there are indeed some overdue requests and complaints we all would like Clavia to address. I’m positive Nord do visit this forum from time to time and they ought to have stumbled upon that master list: I don’t think writing the umpteenth mail would work. Sometimes they either listen to us or anyway agree (see the annual Christmas piano sample), sometimes they simply don’t care (e.g. the organ settings from the NE 5 still missing from the NE 6).

Careful - one gets called out for "certainty" around here.
>sometimes they simply don’t care<
Ditto "solemnity." Please say three Hail Clavias in penance....

But just having a list of desires isn't really the same as a survey is it? With a list of desires it could be a handful that would only want certain things... but it would be tricky to see which of the majority do actually desire something. A survey should help pinpoint and show real data what the community actually wants (and don't want/need) no?
Maybe it would be better to combine the points of that list and make it into a survey to get real data?

As with any other manufacturer, they're going to do what they're going to do. You can choose to like it, live with it, or buy another product.
None of the companies are perfect, and they all have varying degrees of customer responsiveness. The products are great for some, bad for others. I'm not sticking up for Clavia, but you, as the consumer, have the opportunity to vote with your wallet. Don't like what they're doing, move on.
I simply don't see the issue, or how complaining on this forum is going to change anything.
