Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
I think I will change my Electro 6 HA for the Piano. I mostly play piano so the 73 key virtual hammer action is a good option. But I hope the keybed of this new baby is not noisy.

Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
It's already online on the major retailers websites.
Give or take a few euros between different stores, it's 3000 € for the 88 and 2900 for the 73.
So almost no difference between 73 and 88, and a very significant increase from the NP4.

Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
Thinking about this a little more, I’m interested in seeing how these changes impact the next Electro. If Nord decide to include the unison mode, vibrato and higher quality key action in the piano version of the Electro 7, it might be time to trade in the Stage.
Hmm, seems like I said something like that earlier.

Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
(Nord Grand owner here....) - why not 76 keys from A to C? That way, if you’re a fan of deep low end you have what’s on most pianos (except a Bosey which you can get by transposing anyway) or if you love the top end of the range you can select that octave? I’ve never liked keyboards that start at E - it makes no sense to me. Having said that - if you like it - enjoy this one! Sounds like some nice new features!

Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
We discussed that before - several months ago - together with a poll. E - E is the range of a 73-key Rhodes. So the smaller one would be perfect for the epiano players (no, the Electro isn't in my eyes).
Stage-3-C (Rev.B 2.1) - Kawai VPC1 / Viscount Legend 70s / Yamaha CP33 - Hall of Fame & NeoVent2 - Behringer Flow-8 - K&M stands 18820+18811 / 18953+18952 - Samsung Tab S5e, MobileSheetsPro & AirTurn Duo200 - QSC K8.2s / Fischer InEars

Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
It’s funny how everyone sees the world differently. I think the E low end on a keyboard makes less sense precisely because standard guitar tuning has E as its low endHlaalu wrote:It makes some sense when playing with guitarists...SteveNordP3 wrote:I’ve never liked keyboards that start at E - it makes no sense to me.
It’s all good - whatever floats ones boat!

How does this affect the practical use of the keybed?Hlaalu wrote:It makes some sense when playing with guitarists...SteveNordP3 wrote:I’ve never liked keyboards that start at E - it makes no sense to me.

Re: Nord Piano 5 [RELEASED]
From my point of view, the two different versions are equal good solutions.
A smaller portable board for those who don't find use of the outer-ends of the keybed, and a full range versions for those who prefer that.
I prefers the 88 version, but in most cases a 73 version could suit me just fine.
As for the keyboard action, the Fatar will never be as good as the keybed of a real piano/grand, or a HQ digital grand.
It's on the lighter end of the scale. Still I find the Fatar keybed (on my NS3) to be quite well-responsive and dynamic with the Nord-samples.
So I'm at peace with the action, even though I could wish for a bit more heavier action.
