If we were talking about general software programmers I would agree with you statement, but we are talking about Embedded Programmers which are not at all the same thing. Embedded programming is a very specialized niche area of expertise and as a result there is very small pool of coders to select from.Gambold wrote: If you mean my comment that they can't seem to fill the post that has been on their website for months - well, they can't seem to fill the post that has been on their website for months. Yeah, ok, maybe. But this is Stockholm. It's a big city. The biggest one in Scandinavia, and bigger than anything nearby...you've gotta go all the way to Hamburg for something bigger. Sweden may be a little north of the action but it's not that remote. They've got NO available-to-work programmers with this expertise in a rich country pushing 8% unemployment? The universities are dry? The technical schools are shrugging their shoulders? The employment agencies got nothing?
Let's put it this way - if Clavia added a zero to the salary (I'm not saying they should), embedded programmers would be crawling out of the woodwork. I think they are there. They just ain't knocking.

Re: HERE IT COMES STAGE 4 ?
What I mean is: why do you think that embedded software engineers are amongst the unemployed people in Sweden? You must think like this because otherwise your point that there should not be a huge shortage of programmers because of the high unemployment rate is not valid. So you must also have some additional information at hand about which kind of people are unemployed and that there are some embedded software programmers amongst them, or you are telling nonsense here.Gambold wrote:> Clavia not being the humdinger place to work anymore - can you please share these details which support your comment?<
If you mean my comment that they can't seem to fill the post that has been on their website for months - well, they can't seem to fill the post that has been on their website for months. Meaning:
a) There is a huge shortage of programmers in the greater Stockholm area. Given the relatively high (7.6%) unemployment rate, this seems unlikely, especially in the largest city in Sweden, and its capital.
OR
b) There are programmers in Stockholm flipping through the want-ads, but none of them are applying to work for Clavia. This seems more probable, given how long the ad has been running.
SO - if B is true, why so? Clavia is either not competitive in salary/benefits or they are not seen as an advantageous place for a progammer to park their talents. Or both. In short - no longer a humdinger.
I think the latter is true

Re: HERE IT COMES STAGE 4 ?
Gambold. This thread started with a speculation whether Nord will introduce a Stage 4 at NAMM 2023 in April. You really expect the company to preannounce anything about that? Can’t see any rationale for your rants and speculations against the company.

Re: HERE IT COMES STAGE 4 ?
This entire argument about the Embedded SW Engineer position listing on the website is also making an extremely large assumption that they haven't already hired the position and just not removed the listing from the website, which happens literally all of the time with online job postings......

Valpurgia - it's something to bicker about, at least. Nord has given us nothing else to talk about.
>you are telling nonsense here.<
Perhaps, although the counter-argument, that there are no embedded programmers in Sweden to hire, is equally ludicrous.
>an extremely large assumption that they haven't already hired the position and just not removed the listing from the website,<
That is of course possible but it's hardly an "extremely large assumption." We have to go with what the company is telling us. It's the only data we have.

Re: HERE IT COMES STAGE 4 ?
Where is this job being listed currently? On LinkedIn, I only see that they are hiring for for some kind of Production Technician with CAD experience: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3333 ... Second banner (click the second circle in lower right corner of the Pearl banner)
And the website is actually updated quite frequently, almost weekly - either with video uploads to Nord World or patches. So I don't think the want-ad is expired.

Re: HERE IT COMES STAGE 4 ?
Well, unfortunately we do already know how slow Nord is to update their website other than the Live session videos, which I can only assume are uploaded by whoever makes those videos and likely not by the whoever manages the website as a whole.
Without info directly from someone at the company, my assumption is that the company is slammed with whichever new product they are hopefully releasing, as well as updating the software / sample library for the new format introduced with the Piano 5. I can't remember where I read this on this forum, but I also thought I read that they were having to design new chips, due to the current ones being end-of-life.
I am personally more frustrated by the fact that my wife has been trying to buy me the official wood keyboard stand for over a year in order to make our living room look nicer, but she can't get any info on when they will be available again...
