I would not buy NS3 -88 without trying it first at the shop. It does not play in any way the same as a Nord Piano or the Nord Stage 2-88
The keyboard of Stage 3 88 is more improved than Stage 2EX88, the weight and the type is just the same, is it problem only in velocity curves which are "lighter"?
I don't know but it seems that the hardware is basically the same. So it is the velocity curve that makes NS3-88 play totally different compared to 2EX88. They also made changes to effects etc., but for now, to me the velocity curve is big problem, as more people on this forum experience.

Maybe people are think that Velocity is the problem and I really hope so, but I don't wanna negative, but I don't think it is...

Now I'm getting somewhat confused. Streef talked about the 88 key version, but didn't you say above you played the compact version? Or do you just assume that because you don't like the way your compact(?) plays, then all NS3 versions have some until-now undiscovered fault?

I keep almost posting this note. I upgraded to a Stage 3 88 from a Piano 3. I've been playing my Stage almost exclusively with grand piano samples, mostly Imperial XL and Royal 3D in headphones. I too feel it's too hard to get pianissimo from the lowest setting. I also observe that the Stage has four curves whereas the Piano had three, but I can't for the life of me imagine turning the sensitivity up more. I think they need to adjust the curves too.

Regardless compact or 88 I do believe (IMHO) this issue is not only the velocity, but the engine and how it manage the velocity of the sounds not the keyboard.

Yes that's everyone is saying. Is a keyboard velocity or the sounds running on Stage 3 engine. Don't know but you could try to play NS3 via MIDI through Nord Piano

I think it sounds fantastic and I believe the dynamic range is there, it's just too sensitive on low.

No, not everyone.

And you still haven't said what model you own (anywhere I can find).

Could you please state clearly which model you own and have tested, thanks.

As for @derrellpipers comment, even though I think I'm quite well adjusted to the overall sensitivity, it would also make sense for me to have one heavier curve and a few lighter options, rather than only having lighter alternatives to the normal one.

I may be wrong, but looking at the 2nd post on this thread by AP (the one with the original mp3s) he says:
"Does anyone notice a quite noticiabe change in velocity cross layers in piano section on NS3 Compact?"
which seems to indicate to me that he has the Stage 3 Compact - as do I.
As for me; I love the feel of the Compact keyboard and I have no difficulty playing and, I believe, making sing, numbers by Genesis, Floyd, Bowie, ELP and many others.
Just my 2-cents :)
