Whoa that's too expensive.
If I charge my phone before the gig it should last 3 hours shouldn't it?

How would a USB Hun fit in with the irig or Roland then ?

Too expensive?

The iRig MIDI 2 is 79€ at Thomann.
+ Camera Connectivity Kit
+ Powered USB hub OR who knows how long your phone will last

The iConnectMIDI 2+ is 95€ at Thomann.

I dunno. ;)

Ah, wait: just realized: The Camera Connection Kit is the old 30-pin gadget, right? So you're still on an iPhone 4/4S? In that case, yeah the older, cheaper iRig MIDI will do, if you can still get it anywhere — it's been discontinued for a while.
This would also mean that you'd need a 30-pin cable for the iConnectMIDI, as that generally comes with the newer Lightning cable.

Do keep in mind that you may need to rebuild once you replace your phone, or get an iPad, or so. The older iRig probably won't work with an iPad 4/iPhone 5 or newer.

As I know nothing about midi sending im unsure if the irig midi 2 will work better or the Roland UM-g2 would be better, but the manual for the Roland says nothing about connecting to an iPad or iPhone
My rig at the time I was using Set List Maker was NE3, NW, Roland UM-2G, iPad mini and it worked perfect.
I had the iPad powering the UM-2G via USB cable/adaptor and the two midi-out ports of the UM-2G were feeding the program change message to the midi-in ports of the keyboards.

I have an iPad Air 2 (lightning connector and iPhone 5c (also lightning connector)

When I looked for the iconnectmidi it said £100+ plus £20 for the power adapter and it looked a lot bigger, I want something that I can sticky Velcro on top or underneath my keyboard ideally.

I'm thinking iPhone > camera adapter > Roland um-2g then > then the outs to the ins of the keyboards.

Or
Irig midi 2 to the Roland then the soft thru to the nord.

But would this also work?... iPhone > camera adapter > USB to USB to the nord > then out the midi out of the nord to the Roland ?

This worked for me.

I don't think midi-out ports on the nords work as mid-thru ports... Maybe dear Pablo can answer that for sure.

I have no idea.

I can't get hold of a Roland um2g anywhere. Discontinued.

I wonder if I could just go straight in the Roland USB midi, and the thru the 5 pin midi out or if that wouldn't work.
That would be the simplest if it works

It's 67 UKP on thomann (95 EURO) incl. VAT, plus shipping.
http://www.thomann.de/gb/iconnectivity_ ... idi2_l.htm
Dimensions: 106 x 37 x 70 mm, Weight: 312 g

My iConnectMIDI 2+ was 95€ including tax, came with a Lightning to USB connector and a power supply (it won't run without a power adapter, so they include it). I bought an extra cable and an extra power supply as backups for the road case.

I use it with an iPad Air 2 running Set List Maker.

I'll have to measure tomorrow , I doesn't say how long the lightning cable is.
I need to know if It would be long enough for me to have iPhone/iPad on my keyboard but this box out the way underneath my keyboard for live use, or is it not very long then I can't see this on my keyboard while there's a smaller ,black unit available (black meaning it would blend in with my other gear and not stand out as white/silver box)

The Lightning cable is a little over 115 cm long and has a 3x2cm blob (that presumably does the conversion) about fifteen cm from the Lightning end.

The clincher here, to me, is that it also powers my iPad. We'll have sound checks at 3 p.m. and showtime from 9:30 to 1 a.m., and possibly no secured sockets around in the meantime. I try to minimize stuff to worry about, and batteries are high up on that list. :)

Thanks for that.

Did you buy the power adapter for £30 to?

Unfortunately that 115cm cable isn't long enough if I have to stash this under my keyboard in relation to where the iPhone/iPad will be.
But would this work.... IPad Air 2 > Apple camera adapter > USB to printer USB cable 3 metres (like on the icm2)?.

If so I might get it and respray it black and red and pop it on my nord.

This power adapter is odd though that you have to buy it separately for £30, are there alternatives ? Power supplies are on Amazon for £5
