Hi, thnx for these great samples! Is it possible to add the 'Fantasia' sound? I'm still looking for the sound to put in my Stage 2. The sound is also in a little other way in my D70, but I really looking foreward to leave that thing at home...
I'm a fairly new NS2 owner. When you sample these other synths are you recording each note and then mapping across using the sample editor program, or just taking a one note sample? I guess what I'm really asking is, what is the best way to create a sample from another keyboard??
Thanks for the great samples!

Hello DM,
Congratulations on getting your NS2!
My sampling strategy depends heavily on the specifics of the target sound.
Sounds from an Analog synth are rather simple and straight forward, requiring the least amount of sample density.
Sounds from another Rompler depend on the target Romplers sample density "there's no point to sampling every note when the target sound's sample changes every 5 notes".
Acoustic sounds present the greatest challenge in timbral diversity. As with Grand Pianos, one sample per note isn't even enough.
Cheers, Hanon

Hi
Great job! You would be doing me an enormous favour if you could get the 'Staccato Heaven' sound up there. I used to own a D 50 and I used that sound on a specific song - my band is reforming and I will need it again. Thanks dude!!!!!

Hello gijimmyd,
Welcome to the forums!
I can't believe that I missed Staccato Heaven
I'll try to get it posted by next week.
Cheers, Hanon
{edit} I have added Staccato Heaven and Baroque Strings to the original post.

Thanks for your swift reply!
I used to layer Staccato Heaven with an acoustic piano - is it possible to do that with the Electro 3? I know it doesn't have layering - but can you achieve this at the sample edit stage?
Here's a link to me using the sound as described:
it enters at verse 1
Thanks for your help
Jim

Hi Jim,
I'd be honored to make this sample for you.
Awesome song and video!
I believe the Brontosaurus might have eaten the lid off of your Rhodes "a frequent occurrence back then"
I do so miss big hair, well at this point in my life, I just miss hair...
You're right, the NE3 is monotimbral. However it can be done in the sample creation stage and would achieve the desired effect.
Any thoughts on which piano you would want to use?
Being as I'm still Nord-less, my choices are a bit limited.
My initial thoughts are to use the legendary Korg M1 piano "in keeping true to the era".
However, this is what I have on hand:
Roland D-50 D-70 and XV-5050.
Korg 01R/W "super M1" and Wavestation.
Ensoniq MR.
Yamaha Motif.
Kurzweil K250.
Cheers mate, Hanon

Thanks Hanon! You ROCK! I'm almost ready to give the sampling thing a go. We shall see how it goes....
My other favorite patch off the D50 is "Classical Trumpets" -- great brass sound -- wondering if you might have that one done already. I have every card and several custom patches I think folks will like. Most notably, I wrote a horn patch for Rosanna (Toto) that is quite simply killer for my D-50. If anyone is interested in particular patches from my vintage synths, these are what I have available to sample from:
Korg MS-2000R
MiniMoog
Ensoniq EPS
Roland XP-30
Roland XV-5080/XV-88
Roland D-50/D-550
Roland VK-8
Akai S6000
Hammond B-3 / Leslie 122R
Wurlitzer 200EP (not currently operating)
What I don't have is a Yamaha DX-7 and I would love some classic patches from it if someone has done some -- particularly the electric piano patches.
This is a great BB! Thanks for maintaining it and making it so useful!!
