I'm surprised it says 21 lbs on the Gator website, I didn't think it was that much - I have the 88 Slim and it seems very light to me. It does have the wheel assembly and is sturdy.

I wouldn't want my Nord in anything less sturdy though - I have my Alesis Q88 in a cheap very thin bag - but the Alesis only cost $199 :-)

Anyone else have any luck finding a nice bag for their Electro 5 HP?

I used to own the Gator GK61 (the semi-rigid bag with wheels). It fit easily with a little room on either side, but tons of room depth-wise (rear of keyboard)... about 4" or so, even strapped in.

I wanted to find something more snug. I can't seem to find interior dimensions of the GK61 Slim.... I'm THINKING it should fit... possibly?

It was just too damn bulky for me, size-wise... I wanted a more snug fit.

Anyone?

It's unbelievable.
All over the world users of the 73 Electro HP are looking for a light Softcase.
Clavia produced a special softcase for the HP a few years ago, the same way as they do for the 73 without HP.
It was perfect.
the situation now is a little bit confusing.

Maybe we can get Clavia to produce the Softcase 73 for HP again?

Hi! Did anyone find anything for their 5HP?

I found this "Kaces" bag, that's labeled for 61-keys? But its dimensions look pretty good, with a snug fit length-wise. (It does recommend use for the Electro 4 HP.)

Internal: 42.25 x 14.63 x 5.25" (107.29 x 37.16 x 13.3 cm)
External: 43.25 x 15.63 x 6.25" (109.86 cm x 39.70 x 15.9 cm)

It looks like just a half-inch of cushion on each side. Does that seem too thin? I will just be hauling it around town. (If I have to actually tour it, I'll get a hard case.)

Dimensions of the Electro 5 HP are:

1074 mm (42.3") x 121 mm (4.8") x 344 mm (13.5")

Also, I can't find a picture of the interior of this case, and it's so much cheaper than others, so I'm concerned about the quality. Has anyone used a "Kaces" bag before? It's just that it's the best fit I've found so far.

What's everyone using??

Thanks for your input!

It's been discussed HERE.

The short of it: The Gator ProGo 61 (Model GPG61) fits the Electro HP keyboards perfectly. It's light, protective and of very good quality.

I have the 5D 73 with the waterfall keys and I use the Nord soft case. It's handy for travelling in the car, train or when you need to walk somewhere with it - It can be worn like a backpack.

I would definitely recommend it, unless you're going to be throwing it in the back of a van with other heavy items in hard cases,

I've had experience of hard and soft cases with Roland VK7s and VK8s, plus a few years lugging round a chopped Hammond C3 and Leslie 145!

I am on my second Nord Electro. I bought an Electro 2 73-key when they first came out and ordered the extremely well-padded and lightweight backpack case. It served me well for a few years, however I was not fond of the light action. I'm mostly a piano player, not so much B3 and other organs.
When the 3HP came out, I was thrilled...tried it out, loved the keyboard action and bought one (73-key Electro 3HP), assuming that I could use the same case that I had used for my Electro 2 73. When I got the keyboard, I tried to fit it in the case, and it was too big in the width and length by about 1cm in both directions...just couldn't jam it in.
I 'bit the bullet' and bought what I thought was the identical case for my 3HP. It fit perfectly, but they had left off the backpack straps...grrr! I have lived with it since and long ago sold my Electro 2 73.
I had heard that they had discontinued this case that I have...I often have to hike a mile or more to get from parking to gigs, so a single trip is essential. I used to be able to carry my electro in the backpack and wheel a small folding hand truck. Unfortunately, it is difficult to use a shoulder strap and manage a hand truck, so I had to get a larger cart, which is difficult on san francisco hills. The electro 3HP is certainly not too heavy for a backpack...I go backpacking in the mountains sometimes with twice the weight and easily go 5-8 miles a day in mountainous terrain.

Shame on Nord for abandoning us minimalists...that is much of the attraction.
