Your friend has to equip you with a replacement.
He can either buy a secondhand board off ebay, or contribute the value of a similar board towards your replacement.
He has to do this by whatever means.... fraud, lying, selling his car, etc.
This is why I'd never lend anyone my kit ever, or borrow anyone elses.
I've got a 60's mini cooper and my mate crashed it. Not happy.

Bide your time, then borrow something equally valuable from your friend and redress the balance
