Hallo ageofpoo
For that reason I have installed on the back in the cable compartment 3 remote-control switch (Keyboard, lamp for sheet of music, PC). So I always switch off all equipment including mixer and amplifier.
Rrighthand on the table you see half of the black remote control.

Tampa Florida (where my Nords reside) sometimes referred to as Lightning Capital of the World. I'm not too sure about the "World" part, but definitely lightning capital of the USA. Disconnected from mains power when not in use is not a bad idea.

France is not capital of lightnings but I tend to do the same: either switch the power strip off or completely unplug it from the wall when storm is coming.
Plus some appliances do use a little current while in standby. I'm used to have those guys unplugged.
A piece of advice: beware when you guys swicht on everything with a general power strip or anything. Some amps or stuffs do have a built in soft switch under the button, so that the current establishes not to violently. General siwthes bypass that.
Pablo, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Amp or powered speakers turned down and switched off first, then mixer. last keyboard. I reverse this order on power up

I have heard similar things. Any reason for this? Thanks.

Yep, same here. The reason is once/as long as the speakers/mixer are/is off, pops caused by other swithes won't harm.

Yes as mentioned turning off the signal source when the amplification system is turned up, can result in bad signal being amplified and sent to the speakers. Just like unplugging a guitar with the amp turned up.

YES YES, this is basic stuff, but well worth repeating...
power amps should always be the last things to get turned ON and the first to get turned OFF in order to avoid nasty pops and such unpleasantness

Or use the "Neutrik silent plug"...
http://www.neutrik.com/en/audio/plugs-a ... -au-silent
But I guess that it is not a good idea with an active instrument like kbds because the plug shorts the connectors.
