The main disadvantage of the Nord legs is the considerable weight added to the keyboard by the baseplate which remains attached. If you also put the legs in the Nord bag's pocket, you lose almost all the weight advantage of something like the Stage or NP1/2 over the 25kg wardrobes disguised as workstations and DPs by the likes of Yamaha and Roland.

I had the legs for my Stage Classic 76 when I had it. I haven't bothered purchasing them for my Stage 2 88 for exactly the above reasons. I now have a K&M 18880 - incredibly light, quick to break down and rock solid.

It's built like a tank and looks better than a x-stand. Very stable. It takes 15 seconds to rig it up. Also available with a second tier.

Buy some retro legs. They are the best thing you can put your Nord on.

Gosh - one of those K&M stands is 3kg, the other 9kg - big difference!
Any comments from the owners?

I agree - I have the legs for my C1 and it does add considerable weight. For that reason I didn't buy those legs for my NS2 88

The weight is about 9kg for the keyboard stand and 8kg for the narrower digital piano stand. 3kg might be the weight of the second tier extension.

That German stand looks like something you'd find in a garden shed, rather than a recording studio.

I would love it if Nord made a retro legs design with another tier.

Not sure what kind of stuff you are storing in your garden shed. Different strokes for different folks. With the Stage 2 the K&M looks VERY similar to the Nord Stand. But it's much easier to handle and much more versatile.

Owning an NS EX Compact, the Nord Stage stand is not suitable for my instrument.
I currently use an 'X' type of stand, but as I use four pedals (swell, plus ctrl, sustain and rotor speed pedals) - it's either too cramped if they're all positioned 'inside' the stand's frame, or more usually, I position the sustain and rotor pedals outside of the stand, but it's not that comfortable.
Is anyone able to suggest an alternative type of stand for the EX Compact?

There is all kinds of stands out there and I haven't found one that is stable as the Z stand that I have
I can even put my weight on it
I hate when the stand shakes like it's dancing with the music
