I'm not sure, to be honest. It seems a bit unusual to leave what seems to be a fundamental specification on Synthesizers these days.
I was also hoping there was some way of creating a giant "Supersaw" sound on the Lead, too. The "Crush" and "Distortion" are great for Hard-Kicks or Harsh-Snares. Sadly, I can't seem to get a giant "Supersaw" sound, though.
- If anyone's got any suggestions?
I've tried using all 4 Perforamce Slots together and setting all Oscillators to "Sawtooth". Obviously Detuning them slightly. You get a great rich sound. Just not... JP-8080. :/
Have you tried using Unison? I would think that Unison, possibly in combination with detuned oscillators in multiple slots, should be able to get a decent supersaw sound.

Yeah, I used plenty of Unison. It adds a nice effect (Almost like a Chorus).
I'm wondering if the Wavetables in Oscillator 1 would help? There's a section labelled "Digital". I've yet to listen through them.
I had a NL3 and def thought that mod wheel was stone .. it had a pumice like texture .. and that wood pitch stick rocked .. but my REAL questions is WTF HAPPENED TO THOSE AWESOME LED POTS ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Why are we back to normal knobs

Best!

After reading a review about the Wave, it stated that they didn't use the knob dials from the Lead 3 for a cost-effective reason. I can only assume this was the reason with the Lead 4, too. With it already retailing at £1,549 ($2,300?). Ouch! I imagine adding those lush-looking LEDs would have pushed the price even higher.
- Obviously, I would prefer those LEDs from the Lead 3. But hey, we can't have it all I guess. And I'm not sure how much exactly it would push the price up. But the current Lead 4 price is quite bank-breaking for most people.
So I’ve had my Lead 4 here for a couple of hours. I am loving this thing. Lots of fun with the clock synced arpeggio and delay locked in with my Lead 3.
I recorded a little live improvised tune, Nord Lead 3, Lead 4, and Oberheim DX. No overdubs, one take. Check it out.
