fm piano is probably my least favorite sound in the keyboard world. makes me think of those 80s cheesy ballads

Blame the composers, not the sound designers. Before the DX series synths, those sounds were practically not available in any other commercial synth. The DX were truly revolutionary (but not intuitive at all to program).

My personal hate favorite are the Korg M1 presets from the late 80s.
Incidentally, it's producers, not composers, who usually defined the sounds used during that day.

I used to have a Dx7 and DX7 ll FD, very hard to carry and to program, that's the truth !!!

I've had an SY77 for about 21 years and am still only scratching the surface of the sounds it can make. Not that I'm on it every day, especially in the last 3 weeks since my NS2 arrived! Anyway, I love this patch Alex - it sounds great and is really playable. Thank you!!
