Now to the matter of the key.

THIS TOOK ME AGES because I went slow, trying not to press or pry too hard. I went back to this post, back to YouTube.

The key is using the right kind of small flathead screwdriver.

Gently inset the screwdriver and squeeze the rubber wedge part back, using your other hand to GENTLY GENTLY work the key. It will suddenly just softly pop out.

NOW THE TRICKY, UNORTHODOX BIT. Use a small flathead screwdriver and GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY pry the metal front lip away from the key coming out. Metal gives a bit. Just enough as it turns out.

With the other hand GENTLY GENTLY work the key to get the two front prongs past the metal keybed plate.

Key comes out. There is no real bend to the metal lip. There is just enough clearance for this.

Put the new key in. Push it GENTLY into place and the rubber wedge locks into place.
