Hi max, thank you for bringing that up. I am aware about these problems, the seller has sworn to me that the unit has never had any power supply issue and I personally tried it at his house. I also tried it at my house leaving it on for hours and it seems like nothing was wrong. Hope it won't fail on me in the next years, after buying it I will consider bringing it to italy's nord supplier for a check-up.

Given that the Electro 6 is now over 7 years old..and the new Stage, Grand and Piano are priced out of just about everyone's comfort level...the Nord user base is fast becoming a vintage keyboard community.

People happily talking about their 15-25 year old keyboards - they have no choice, Nord has nothing to sell them now, as they aren't captains of the recording industry or university department chairs.

Meanwhile, the Electro 6 is closing in on the title "classic," given its age. There will likely be a new model later this year or early next year, but the waterfall version is sure to be priced over $3500, and the Hammer action well over $4000. This will prompt even more Nord users to "hang on" to their existing boards, for like ever.

They are built like tanks! Yeah, they need to be.

Current USA prices (not including sales tax - so add in at least 6%):

Stage 4 88 - $5999
Grand 2 88 - $4999
Organ 3 - $4399
Piano 6 88 - $4199

Just pulled out my 2005 Electro 2 for an upcoming show — still appears to be working just fine! :keyboard:

Well, it got routinely banged up during the hundreds of gigs on the last production I had it along. The wooden side panels lost their screws ages ago. (reminder: fix!)

Since then, it's been mostly just sitting in a cheap flightcase. It survived a building explosion, was stolen from the ruined building and recovered, and it's been sitting in a warehouse for the last few years.

I know you're joking, but…

The person who caused the explosion died (it is assumed that he intended to gas himself, not burn to death), and a number of us lost a LOT of gear in there. Half my studio possessions were in storage; most have been plundered and presumably stolen (one of my Roland MKS-70s turned up on eBay last year).

It was only through sheer coincidence that I recovered the Electro (and the Wurli, one of the Hammond B-3s, Space Echo, moog the Source, and the ARP Odyssey).

Sorry to rain on your humour. The perspective of someone dying in that event just removes all joke potential for me.
