Okaaay... New Infos for me... Thought is was a TP/100<>110 thing... Very interesting, to hear new Nord Keybed specs, that are poorly official mentioned... Well, personally I measure a Keyboard more for its interface (Keybed) feel, than for the sound engine (where I especially don´t like those linear Loops at the sample ends)... I need the unicorn, where the palying of Piano, Organ and Synth can be done the best - so the keybed part number doesn´t matter, when the feel is okay...  I tried ("tried" in this case is the expression for Keyboard buying, testing and selling again at a loss) a lot of units on my endelss search for the perfect Stage-Key-Solution and just can remember, that to me the "NS4_73 - Feel" is much better than the NS3_73 and that the NumaX73 is a milestone after my SL73 (and the MODX8 seems more flexible than a MOTIF8 and the same for the SX700 compared with the SX300 - but this would be another topic)... The NumaX really seems similar to the NS473 to me - but let me do a direct comparison with both units next days, to be able to make a more competent comment next time...

I had a Numa X Piano 73 and I tested the NS4 HA73 too, so I think I know what you mean ;-) actually the TP110 has reduced the gap with the TP40 by a good deal compared to the (incomparable, i.e. much worse) TP 100LR in terms of playing feel, but still it is mechanically different and more an evolution of the TP100 than a "TP40 lite" (look at the pictures of the 2 mechanics on the new Studiologic SL MK2 pages https://www.studiologic-music.com/products/slmk2/ mid of page)

I've mentioned this in other posts, but it's kind of spot on here. I had the Stage 3 88. Loved it. Loved the keyboard feel. Then I upgraded to the Stage 4 88. When I first played it, I was relieved that it felt exactly the same as the Stage 3. I put the Stage 3 away intending on selling it down the road. A few months later, after exclusively playing the Stage 4 88, I took out the Stage 3 to sell it. I fired it up and played around with it and...whoa! The keyed felt so inferior to the Stage 4! It felt heavier, in a bad way, and more sluggish. I guess it's the triple sensor. I don't know. But what seemed the same at first, seemed not nearly as good a few months after using only the Stage 4 88. Was an interesting experiment!

Some will say the "action" is the same. They are both TP40(m). And the difference is accounted for in the triple sensor. I guess that makes sense as going from the 3 to the 4 was so similar, but going the other direction was so jarring. YMMV!

I've got my NS4 88 a couple of weeks ago (panel v2.23), and compared to my old NS3 88 it feels tighter and more precize. My NS3 was one of the first to be delivered in the Netherlands, so the time-gap is quite big. Nord might have made small changes to its keybed over the years (NS3 88 of a friend seems to play slightly different as well), so I am not sure if the difference would have been that big with later NS3 88 versions.

I've noticed the same thing -- more recent versions always play better than the previous. Late-run NS3C plays noticeably better than early-run NS3C. NS4C plays much nicer than late-run NS3C -- and so on.

I put it down to Fatar continually improving their products -- without changing the model designations.
