I’ve had a lot of conversations with vendors recently leading up to buying my Stage 4; my understanding is that there may be a price increase April 1st. The catch is that the EU tariffs are something of a moving target, but that’s the current anticipated timeline on the distributor’s side that’s been passed down to US dealers. Nothing is 100% for certain, but that’s what we know for now.
This looks like the most likely scenario, but it only will last as long as EU continues to tariff US imports. Products from Italy, Germany et. al. will endure similar price increases. China-built products as well. How long? My guess is a few months before the spat settles itself. Certainly not permanent.

Well, we're entering politics. As much as I understand, the mechanism might work the other way round: US administration might tariff imports from Europe in the future like they already do towards (Chinese,) Mexican and Canadian imports. No idea if this will happen (sounds likely at the moment) and how long that will last. I hope you're right with the length.

Now it's official:
The American government has just now officially decided on new import duties starting April 9, 2025 for many contries all over the world.
The European Union (EU), which includes the country Sweden and where CLAVIA NORD is headquartered, will be imposed according to today's status to a additional customs duties of 20 % !
( However, as we know from the past, this can change at any time )
( As of: April 3, 2025 )

New price for a Stage 4 88 in USD is $5,999 + tax...some retailers still have them listed at $5,699 (old price), but a few of the big ones have gone up already.

There was a video about this posted a few days ago by Piano Man Chuck warning that the prices would jump on Friday, surprised it didn't get shared here.

Sweetwater now has the Stage 4 HA73 at $5,899 (up $500) and the SW73 for $5,399. It looks like HA88s in stock are still at $5,699, while other companies are eating the cost a little to keep the new HA88s below $6K at $5,999.
Update since this morning: Sweetwater Stage 4 HA88 now $5,999 with offer of free case for next 10 days.

the A1 price has now increased by $200, the wave 2 by $400, the piano 6 (originally listed at $3800) is now $4200. the organ 3 has gone from $4,000 to $4,400 with a "price drop" back to $4,000 (for something that won't even be in stock until August.) I'm glad I have the Nords I do (all of them were used) but I don't think I'll ever buy another one.

Nord's prices are already in the ionosphere. The Stage 4 88 is essentially unpurchasable except by professionals or institutions. The Piano 6 is also way too expensive for what you get. Ditto the Grand 2, where you pay another Grand for a furniture piece.
SO - tariffs aren't going to make much difference. They raise their prices, their market won't slip much...since it's become so exclusive.

Well… since all other products are also similarly increasing in price (except the tiny handful built entirely in the U.S., entirely from components sourced in the U.S. — is that even possible?)…
Those manufacturers who build in China will have much more serious issues.

(like here in germany - you get what you have voted...)- so, enough politics...
