Thanks a lot for this detailed reply, M_a_c.
I think I will save some money for the NS4-73 and sell my NE6...

Re: COMPARISON NORD WAVE2 AND NORD STAGE 4
Well... Even if I have the Waterfall-Keybed for Organ&Synth on my NE6D61, and no matter how or what you´re playing, I would prefer the Hammer-Action keybed for the NS4 (=>NS473 without "compact" - let´s tell it "NS473HA")... On the NS473 Organ can be played (if you can do without the Re-Triggering, what is the reason for me to have the NE6D above), Synth are really fine also, but the Pianos are only at their Best with the Hammer-Action Keybed! No real chance for the Waterfall-Keybed for Pianos IMO...
... what does not mean, that I don´t use the NE6D61 for Pianos on a regular base at rehearsals...

... onstage since '78 on the endless (?) hunt for the perfect stage keyboard...

Yes, waterfall keyboard are very fast but tricky for piano parts...

I´m already thought of a replacement of my NE6D61 with a Hammer-Action Key...
... but it is doing its Job and it is so smart and easy to carry...
Well - it´s the endless hunt (see my signature)...

sure, the weight is also important, there is no 'perfect' solution

Re: COMPARISON NORD WAVE2 AND NORD STAGE 4
The Nord Wave 2 advantages over the NS4 that I am aware of are more extensive hands on controls, 4 parts instead of 3, and velocity morphs.eric barbier wrote: ↑06 Jan 2025, 17:11 compare the differences that there may be between the Nord Wave2 and the synth part of the Nordstage4.
(ETA: and full 4-stage ADSR envelopes.)
It also depends how much you care about the other (i.e. non-synth) advantages of the NS4 over the NE6D. More piano memory, more flexible effects, more flexible splits/layers, drawbar LEDs, 8 program selection buttons instead of 4, external MIDI zones, etc.eric barbier wrote: ↑06 Jan 2025, 17:11 is it worth the cost to buy a nordstage 4 in 73 notes or to keep my electro 6d and complete it with a nord wave2?
