1000 thanx could convert all my nsmp files to nsmp3 then upload with NSM 7.74 to my NS4 (MBP booted into 10.14.6)

I was just curious of the app, so I've downloaded it to check it out.
I've got a version incompatibility message at opening the app:

Download PlayonMac, and install it. After this download sample converter for windows and install it on Mac.

Any idea why I can download my selfmade nsmp3 sounds to NS4 but not for example Weltmeister 2 from 3.0 sample library?'

Sound Manager lets choose this sound but stops with "Error..."

The answer is: It's like that, and probably on purpose.

Maybe, it has something to do with flags that are set internally. I suspect copyright issues that led Nord to search a way to get rid of some samples where they don't have the right to distribute them (any further).

I am using mac so I could not open the converter software. But I just renamed .nsmp files to .nsmp3 in my finder and that worked. Simple as that

So are you saying you were able to rename some Nord sample library files and they were successfully converted to Nord Stage 4 format by the Nord Sound Manager?

What hordur described works with user .nsmp samples, not the official NSL ones

I couldn’t tell because some of the threads referred to library samples. So here we remain with an under populated Stage 4 sample library as well as an instrument that was shipped with one of its documented features (and associated hardware button) that never worked (UNDO). Nord even admitted that they shipped (and still are) the Stage 4 with a non-functioning feature that’s in the user manual. I mean, who does that? Yamaha, Korg, Roland, Kawaii, Kurzwell, Casio? Nope.

Is there any method or software to go the other way - convert .nsmp3 files back to .nsmp for use with older keyboards (Nord Electro 5 in my case).

I saw a forum thread that said no, but it's from 2020, so just checking. At one point, I thought Nord Sound Manager or Nord Sample Editor could do this, but I get an error when trying to drat .nsmp3 files onto them.

No sorry, there isn't an app available to convert a NSMP3 file to NSMP format.
