Re: Global Transpose alternative

Post by Klangwerk »

As I mentioned in previous chats, I'd prefer a Global Transpose possibility. I play in different bands and the same song are played in different pitches.
So I have to save the same program in another pitch and that needs a lot of program space I don't have anymore. I would like to find a appropriate solution.

Thanks
Helmuth

Since Nord have designed the software in the NS3 the way they did, there is only the way to transpose always after you called up a program. I do not know any way to maintain that while switching.

Hi,
Are the sets for every band is transposed the same for all the songs? If not then you might still have a problem.
What about having programs stored for each band transposed individually all in different backups?

I guess that the way this could be resolved is for the song mode to store transposing data which over-rides the program values, if different than 0, but that might bring new complications as currently the song mode only stores a reference.
In any case you would need song sets for every band anyway.

Other solutions nobody wants to hear about are: learning the tunes in the respective band keys or getting a different singer. :)

That sounds easy, but I‘d like to add that you during the entire song have to have in mind which band resp. which tune you‘re playing that particular moment. Some years ago I had an „Old Men“ Band where we lowered Summer of 69 from D to A! My right hand used to automatically find its synth arpeggio position based on the D tuning - it sometimes ended up in a mess.
