Re: Do you need a backup Nord Stage?
Here in greece many people have the stage 3 ha 88 or stage 2 ha 88 for most events that they are in same place everyweek so they dont have to move 2 much with it.. and for touring style events they have a stage 3 compact or electro depending what sounds they use because its easy to carry

If you're like me, you've built your entire sound around your Stage 3. So your backup will have to be -- yes -- another Stage 3. I am not a touring musician, but if my gear were to fail me for any reason, the gig itself would be wrecked as I have lots of signature parts.
I use a two-board rig (Piano 4 controlling NS3C) where I could limp through a gig on that alone if needed. But I got one of the first NS3Cs, and it's gotten a lot of use. I bought another one and found not only did it reduce my gig anxiety, it gave me a lot flexibility in prepping sounds and setlists.

I think I have gear issues ....

Re: Do you need a backup Nord Stage?
I accidentally stumbled into a keyboard gig setup that has emergency redundancy built-in: I use an FA-07 to produce certain "useful noises" that I can only get from my Roland, and to implement certain splits that even a Stage 3 cannot do. I use an Electro 3 to give me Organ and EP sounds that are much better than anything I can get from my FA-07. I could get thru a gig if either one of them failed.

Good point - anything to reduce "gig anxiety!"cphollis wrote: I bought another one and found not only did it reduce my gig anxiety, it gave me a lot flexibility in prepping sounds and setlists.
For me, it was a 10-month-old QSC 12 which stopped working. It's been in the shop now for 6 months awaiting parts.
